WD Element drives support on-device hardware encryption but the Easystore do not. Other than that they're pretty comparable in almost every other way.

Yeah, white drives almost exclusively. You can sometimes see a red drive in either, but the device will usually have a non-standard model / serial number with a couple of extra letters or numbers tacked on the end with a hyphen. These are usually only found in very short runs, like they're just using up some excess inventory, and when that production batch is sold out you'll usually never see them again.

WD Elements version on WD's website is also $199, and includes an extra year of warranty (3 years total): https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...40HBK-NESN

It's funny that on another recent thread, people roasted me for saying to buy when under $15/TB. It happens frequently enough. Here you go. Lol.

Should be lower than $180 by now… but not a bad price if you need them. I picked up a couple more at BF. Great drives.

Don't forget 5% CB @ebay 1st quarter rewards w/ Chase freedom cards that ends today (Thursday 3/31).

that 14TB Elements was covered by 30-day no-hassles policy, just print the label from your order history (it's automated)

wow i was mad dumb. i ordered one two months ago and saw it at 220 or 210 like 5 days ago... i been waiting for over a yr when i missed black friday deal just to order one two months ago and then somehow wanted to order another one and couldnt wait. wish i waited another week and then order today instead of last week after waiting for a year to order one not on sale two months ago grrrrrrrrrrrr.... and it's not even filled up so i should have waited until it went down to 200....it's not gonna hit it again until this year black friday or maybe memorial day one more time before BB lol. brought from newegg but havent even open the shipping box so thinking if i can return it and buy this??? Any ideas if newegg will give me free return shipping label or how does the return for new egg works??? Anyone can help???

The last best deal I saw on a large easystore was $205 for the 12TB.

Thanks for making me buy more hard drives. They have to pad those 1st quarter revenue numbers with some high cost items. Let's go!

Some reviews mention that it is noisy. Anyone can confirm?
