I bought this for anyone considering it. $88 is not a deal but it is pretty decent since its always at a 100. If you're lucky to get it at $25 off from staples, then that's the best. But still if you need a charger this is a good one. From all my research, this charges your iPhone slowly at 5W. Don't pay mind to the total battery capacity compared to Anker. You're paying 2x for the design, the convenience of an apple charger, the integrated charging, and also a pack that focuses more on saving your battery than charging it super fast. Another aspect is its super convenient. When its plugged in, it charges your phone at 20W or something. And its MagSafe plus has reverse charging if your phone is plugged. Apple has some interesting ways of deciding how to charge your phones, so we can assume its for the best. Hope that helps!

Thanks! I think this deal is OK, but good for anyone who needs one now and can save a few bucks.

I've read a lot of reviews that this will only maintain your battery level and not increase it if you are actively using it. To me the biggest benefit to this is being able to slap it on the back of your phone and continue to use it. If I have to put the phone down for it to charge I might as well just plug it into something.

Can anyone with experience comment on this?

Good deal and it Works with $15 off on Discover card. However, I already have anker which doubles as a phone stand so I will pass.

I just used one of these pretty extensively on vacation, and it was definitely increasing the charge while I was using my phone. Now, I'll admit, it's not like I was playing phone games that drain the battery, so maybe if you're using an app that really chews through battery it won't charge quickly enough to overcome that, but I was using Google Maps a lot, and that isn't exactly easy on the battery. Now, the charge wasn't as fast as when I use my USB C battery pack, but considering how unobtrusive and light this battery is, the convenience more than made up for it imo. I would also point out that the battery has a setting that lets you keep your phone at a certain level of charge (I had mine set to 60% in case someone else in our group needed to use the battery it would still have plenty of juice) so maybe some people had that setting on without realizing it?

My one quibble is that, for this price point, I would prefer a 10W charge, which MagSafe is definitely capable of delivering, but considering how easy it is to keep the battery on your phone, I'm not sure that's a huge deal.
