I would say 3070 TI is better, but not by much. *it does have better specs over all too

The difference between the two is battery life. AMD will give you more. The Intel still sucks a lot of juice.

Not that this is a bad deal/laptop by any means, the Strix Scar 15 is just a better device overall (except for the battery runtime), esp if price isn't a restraint. You can find even better gaming laptops, but among these two I'd go with the Scar 15; much much better processor, faster RAM and an around 25% faster GPU.

Also, the latter was on sale a few days ago. So if you can, wait for that to happen again.

If you're not gaming and battery life is really your concern, then get a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Pro. I know this will be unpopular with the PC only crowd, but this thing is a beast when it comes to battery life.

If you are gaming, then battery life should not be your concern, because both of these will eat the battery quickly in a gaming session. Also, the power of the two will be severely throttled on battery and that's going to make the comparison pointless. So just assume you're going to keep it plugged in for gaming sessions and the power consumption difference between the 2 CPUs is 20 watts (so not dramatic).
I'm using it for day trading. Need to open several apps and browser tabs simultaneously. I like MacBook Pro performance but I need windows for some of my apps. I tried parallels but that's slowing down entire system.

Yeah parallels subscription service sucks and if you buy the non-sub version, you are limited on the RAM and that can cause serious issues.

you do realize both can co-exist.. what's this extremist view where if you want good battery life you have to go to the opposite end and grab a MacBook?

Just a typical apple fan-boy trying to shove a MacBook down that member's throat even when it's pretty obvious he's probably asking for a gaming, or a really powerful, laptop since he asked to compare between two gaming laptops. Nowhere did he even mention anything about battery life. Even if he were to, there are numerous options in the windows OS for great battery runtime like the LG gram lineup, Microsoft surface lineup, etc before jumping on to the MacBooks.

Absolutely not. Don't listen to anyone who says those laptops are remotely the same. The 12th gen Intel is one of the largest processing gaps between previous years ever and as another poster said, 30%-50% faster than previous generations.

The GPU is a 3070ti which is a top 5 GPU right now. This has a Radeon.

Then you have Ddr4 memory vs ddr5 memory.

And this has no MUX switch, which boosts gaming perf by 15%
