Just a typical apple fan-boy trying to shove a MacBook down that member's throat even when it's pretty obvious he's probably asking for a gaming, or a really powerful, laptop since he asked to compare between two gaming laptops. Nowhere did he even mention anything about battery life. Even if he were to, there are numerous options in the windows OS for great battery runtime like the LG gram lineup, Microsoft surface lineup, etc before jumping on to the MacBooks.
I have the same AMD Advantage laptop and also a 3080 laptop and the AMD actually out performs the 3080 AFTER CHANGING FROM X16 MEMORY MODULES TO X8 MODULES. I put that in caps cause it's super important and totally unlocks the performance of this and many other laptops. Here are two YouTube videos that benchmark this fact. Aside from Ray tracing, the RX6800m sits comfortably on the same tier as the 3080 and totally smokes the 3070 TI. It's really dumb these laptops ship with these slow crappy modules.
IMO the only downside of this model is lack of a mux switch, but if you connect a monitor to the usb-c port it connects directly to the GPU bypassing the i-gpu and that makes this laptop really shine. Hope this helps

Side note: I got mine as an open box from best buy for $850 out the door because they screwed my order up and discounted it.
The difference between the two is battery life. AMD will give you more. The Intel still sucks a lot of juice.

Performance will be same?
Absolutely not. Don't listen to anyone who says those laptops are remotely the same. The 12th gen Intel is one of the largest processing gaps between previous years ever and as another poster said, 30%-50% faster than previous generations.

The GPU is a 3070ti which is a top 5 GPU right now. This has a Radeon.

Then you have Ddr4 memory vs ddr5 memory.

And this has no MUX switch, which boosts gaming perf by 15%

Love this laptop. I've gamed exclusively on this since launch day. 80 hours of Elden Ring is my latest gaming adventure.

Tempting, but waiting for Ryzen 6k series CPUs, gonna be a huge boon to battery life and power/performance.

Check out the links I posted. The benchmarks for the RX 6800m are actually much better than initially thought once the memory modules are changed out. The reason this was hard to find out was due to this model being the only laptop that currently uses this GPU and that it shipped with crappy slow x16 memory modules. Once you swap that out you gain 20-30% performance. Also the lack of a mux switch can be mitigated with a usb-c dock or usb-c to displayport adapter, this will connect you directly to the GPU and get you that other 15% performance back. Also since this has a 1080p screen, you'll want to use the usb-c port to really take advantage of the gou anyways. In 1080p, even with out using the usb-c port this can game on max settings in every game I've thrown at it. 12gb of VRAM is also a nice to have for larger textures.

Seems the older version was posted here with 5900HX and 6800m+1080p screen for 1400
So I think for same price, this qhd version can be a deal

Which one is better out of these 2? If price is not a constraint? ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 (2022) Gaming Laptop, 15.6" 300Hz IPS FHD Display, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti,Intel Core i9 12900H, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, Per-Key RGB Keyboard, Windows 11 Home, G533ZW-AS94 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RMW1...UTF8&psc=1
Depends, if you are playing fps like fortnite or csgo, 300hz matters more.
BTW if I recall correctly asus is using 1 16gb ram for this model, so if you are not able to buy another 16gb sodimm ram, there's gonna be performance cut.

Do you happen to have any info on whether they add mux switch back to this one?

there is no mux switch on this edition. if that is a must, would need to get the 2022 edition, which is not on sale.

on another note, i got in on this deal last time around for the same price and very happy with the performance to price ratio, although wish the QHD version was on sale last time.

I think the initial batches came that way. The one I bought which shows mfg date of Aug 2021 has 2 8gb sticks of RAM.

The qhd version doesn't have mux? Ummm that's the slight bummer…
But sounds better for me since I already got 2022 strix scar 17 instead

The 3070ti does not have much if any advantage over the 6800m. The CPU is better but will not have any affect on gaming as neither one of these CPUs is a bottleneck for their GPUs. The mux switch is an issue but if you game on an external monitor then not so much.

the 3700 ti will destroy this with dlss and ray tracing.
