$50/year constitutes "paying a lot?" I only shop there 4-5 times a year and I easily make my $50 back. 8 out of every 10 deals I see on SD are not of much interest to me. Guess what? I scroll on to something else, rather than whining in the thread about it.

If you live or work nearby and just take advantage of their classic loss items like the 1.50$ hot dog and soda with free refills or 5$ whole rotisserie chicken it will mostly pay for itself or more if you shop smart or even more if there's a Business Costco nearby, that's where the real bulk deals are and they're open to regular members nothing extra needed.

It's so weird to have so many threads on the front page about Costco today. Feels like it's becoming the Costco forum.

I get that people like to shop there, but not everyone is a member. Their membership is pretty expensive for what it is and many stores may not be conveniently located for people to even consider shopping there regularly.

Is it really a SD when you have to sign up and pay alot to get the sale price?

It seems kind of like the YMMV threads which were dominating the forum awhile back but thankfully have kind of died down. Didn't bring much value to the forum.
I feel like everyone who is not a Costco member says this until they find the *one thing* they use regularly & see how much cheaper it is at Costco.

And that's if it's only one thing... Chances are, there's a few things that are a lot cheaper.

I don't do all my shopping at Costco... I go about once a month but with their Citi credit card, I'll get 4-5x back in annual rewards that more than pays for my annual membership.

That said, if there's none near you, feel free to these posts.... I don't complain in posts that don't apply to me...

Just wondering what you consider to be the real deals at their business centers

The business centers will often have things in stock that my smaller costco run out of. They also have a number of items I use for events that are almost never in my local costco.

Most of the people i know who shop at costco don't pay for membership. If you're an executive member and spend $6,000/year there then you get your $120 membership back. $3,000 if you use the credit card. If you just buy gas there and nothing else you're more than half way there.

Unless i'm traveling, i don't buy gas anywhere else.
$500/month is a fair amount to spend at one store. Costco has some deals, but not everything there is cheaper than you can get elsewhere. I say this as an executive member with an above-average family size, who barely comes out ahead on paying the extra $60/year for that upgrade (let alone earning the $120 that way). 1-2 more kids out of the nest, and we'll scale back to a regular membership, if that, again, most likely.

That said, I found the gas comment kind of funny -- our local Sam's club is almost always cheaper than our local Costco, so I'm less likely to buy Costco gas at home, but on driving trips, we've hit a lot of Costco's for their gas.

Most folks I know either have a membership, are on their parents/friends membership, or borrow a membership number for online orders.

On the surface $180 for 3 jars seems like a good price because they sell for $140 a jar on the company website: https://www.tsarnicoulai.com/shop/baerii but I am not fully convinced about buying something that is product of Greece and also small grain. Unless you know this caviar and like it, my advice would be not to buy.
