This stuff, like most washing machine cleaners, is just citric acid.

Get a bag of citric acid and put 1/2 a cup in the machine and run on a long warm/hot cycle. Saves money and does the same thing.

The main benefit to this one is it has a wax plug that prevents the cleaner from being released until after the pre wash cycle. If you just throw citric acid in it will be drained off before the main wash cycle even starts

I was thinking the same thing. And it's cheaper to just get The other non "limited edition"… edit: no it's not $60 shipping for regular non limited edition. What is going on here?

My dishes/dishwasher smelled like chemicals for weeks after using this thing. I wouldn't recommend it.

Wait... what?! I had no idea what was even a thing. As an aside, this got me looking into the costco stuff I have under the sink. It looks like they use different stuff.

I wonder if one formulation is better or worse for the environment than the other. All the chemicals seem rather benign

I was looking at the $2.49 single version until I noticed the $60 shipping. I try to maintain my faith in humanity, but it's hard these days. Amazon is worth more than a trillion dollars as a company and yet their third party seller market is the equivalent of the wild west where anything seemingly goes.

How hard would be to create software to monitor and prevent these kind of scams? Maybe flag an item internally for review if shipping is 2000% more than its retail price? Or if that's not possible, how about a customer reporting feature so that Amazon staff can investigate after numerous reports come in?

Back on topic, I use these every few months with our dishwasher and it helps the dishes come out clean. In my experience, it's a good product. Thanks OP.

not only is it #2 in Household Dishwasher Cleaners on Amazon's ranking, it is #1 in Fruit Juice Beverages. Clean dishes and something to pack in your kids lunchboxes! Grin

I have tried this (at least 4-5 times when they were on sale at Target) in the past. My dishwasher has water scale build up (the white stuff on the heating ring), this doesn't do a damn thing. It's one of those make you feel good cleaner thing that doesn't do much.

Bunch of idiots buy this i swear. Clean a dishwasher? A dishwasher is a cleaning device. If your dishwasher is dirty, it is faulty.

Most soaps are base so scale can build up. Cleaners like this, acid, can remove that build up.

But like I said before, just buy citric acid and save even more money.
