Phone eta is may 10-12 but still in order confirmed phase and my mint mobile plan ends may 10. There's no option to renew for a month and I'm okay without mobile network for a couple days. I already called and told mint and have the account# and pin. For example, if the phone comes may 12 and I'll be 2 days passed my mint coverage, will the number still port out?

It depends on Mint's policy. With most providers, you can only port out an active number. However, if I'm not mistaken, some providers like Visible would suspend your line for 30 days in hope of you coming back. I've read of people porting a suspended number out of Visible several weeks after the paid service ended. Your best bet is to ask Mint.

I've also read of people "parking" their phone number temporarily at Number Barn for a small fee. I don't know if they still provide that service.

Got a ZFlip3 with this promo. No eSIM. Should I risk putting the sim in a drawer and using my primary SIM only? or just put the whole phone in a drawer for 120 days? (Plan active / good and timer started)

Sim in a drawer is perfectly safe. i've been doing that and the promo countdown continues as long as my plan is active.

I chatted with the customer service of Amex and that person enrolled me to the promotion. you must enroll to get the benefit. It was free. You can check if the enrollment was successful with the link below.

Will be good to find out if we can use the Amex offer here
Quote from swammer :
did you receive an email from amex you have redeemed the offer?
Quote from hpham_53 :
Some posters on Doctor of Credit say prepaying might not have the right coding to get the Amex credit. One says prepaying is coded as "Google Services" without the word Fi in the merchant's name. Just thought I bring it up.

Came here to ask this exact question. Thanks for letting us know. Is there an actual countdown that you're referring to on the website or something? My plan is to activate the fi sim, then remove it and put it in a drawer. I'll use my regular sim at that point. Do I need to show any usage with their sim at all? Thanks again!

With those Amex offers, I just log into our Amex accounts, look at the offers that are of interest to me and click on the Add To Card button next to them. Typically, after I made a purchase that meets the requirement for an offer I had added to my card, then Amex would send me a "Congrats..." email.

fi.google.com > billing > fi savings > in progress > your promo

This will list the steps remaining, for me I'm on the last step, 116 days left.

Do you freeze the fi app? or use the app to check promo progress etc and not worry? (I dunno if the app pings, or if that's just overly paranoid? factory reset AFTER activation or leave as is?)

Check the Bill section of your Fi account and there's a promo link that tells you your progress to qualification.

I uninstalled the app right after activation and the progress is still working.

Yes, the Amex support guy told me that too but I could not find the offer as I am not familiar with their web site. I search "google fi" and nothing was returned....After he enrolled me then I was able to find it :-)

I ordered the s22 phone 2 days back and selected the $20 plan reduce has $10/gb data charges. If i join a family group now to get simple unlimited plan, would i lose the $500 promotion? The family group owner told me that i will lose the promotion.
Is it better to than cancel the order and re order after joining the family plan.
Thanks for the help.

Under "your plan", go to "Manage plan". At the bottom, there's a "Leave Google Fi" button.
