Since Costco is same price, I'd recommend buying from them, 3 year manufacturer's warranty included plus 2 additional years warranty as well, plus 90 day returns. So if the new version A80K comes out in May with stellar reviews, you have a decent amount of time to decide if you want to upgrade or keep the A80J.

I bought from Costco for $2,899 around Jan end. Chatted with Costco rep and they gave $100 refund as a courtesy. Thanks OP!

Meh. I was hoping the Sony was going to be the same price as the LG.
I think 2400-2500 is the buy it now price for me.

I bought the 65" around Christmas time and returned it for the LG C1. Luckily Costco is easy about returns. Make sure you do your homework.

Really? Everyone is saying the sony has better picture upscaling. I've been on the fence between the 2 and that's why I"m going with the sony if it drops to 2k for 77".

I've had the A80J for a bit over a month and I'm in the process of returning it now. Great picture quality, they recently added VRR, I like the Google software, BUT there have just been too many issues with it.

Multiple times when I've turned the tv on the screen does not come on. The tv is on because I can hear it when I push buttons on the remote but the screen is black. To fix this I need to unplug the tv and then plug it in again. And just yesterday the wifi refused to work. It had turned off and when I would go to turn it back on, no networks would show up. When I would exit the menu and go back in, wifi would be off again. Again, to fix this I had to unplug the tv and plug it in again.

These "little" issues are too annoying to deal with and they are apparently very common problems with Sony Bravia tvs. They have solutions for these problems on the Sony website. The solution? Unplug the tv and plug it in again. When Sony recognizes the problem but doesn't offer a real fix, that's a problem.

I'm going with the LG C1.

One thing to note is that Sony support is a total disaster. It took them a month to repair/replace my new TV. My TV (77 A80J) died after 100 days - Costco was not helpful as I was over 90 days and Sony support is beyond slow - agents have no authority and flexibility to accommodate clients (benefits of outsourcing).

A80K should will have 4K/120, VRR out the box, if your a gamer this will benefit you more so than anything else. It also includes PS5 features, which are likely just the auto tuning of HDR and their open ended PS5 VRR support. Sony stated that, for results of how effective the VRR technology is may vary depending on which TV or monitor your using. If you only need it for TV and movie watching, better jump on A80J this deal or wait to see if it falls further.
