Samsung S21 FE $200 or Samsung A53 G $50 at Metro with port in. - in store only
I just the got A53 by porting in from the $1 boostmobile new deal. while in the store i was informed that S21FE price dropped from $300 to $200 with port in. I going back in a day or to switch over to the FE
I Don't think that Reddit post was entirely accurate. I ported in 4 $1 Boost lines a few weeks ago, bought 2 iphone 11 for $100 each and got 2 android phones for free. The iphones seem to be locked to Metro, however I am currently using one of the android phones with my T-Mobile sim card, it's a Moto G Stylus 5G. The other android phone is a Samsung A13 5G. I gave that phone to a family member and they are also using it on T-Mobile without issues, so my guess is that it's just an iphone thing.
I went to a corporate store around Chicago, they did NOT charge tax on full price and did NOT charge activation fees. I got the 4 lines for $120 plan, at first the guy helping me offered the 4 lines for $100 plan but when he went to put it in the system it wouldn't let him add the discounts for the phones, so I went with the $120 instead. They had several options for "free" phones, in retrospect I should have gotten the Nokia x100[gsmarena.com] with 6GB of ram instead of the Samsung one I got, but oh well. I ended up going for THIS[gsmarena.com] Motorola phone and THIS[gsmarena.com] Samsung one, both of which work with T-Mobile sim cards. My total was exactly $341.48. $99.99 for each iphone 11, $120 for the 4 lines, and $21.50 for the 10.75% Sales Tax. Hope that answered your questions, happy hunting .
It unlocks for free 6 months after activation. You don't need to pay for 6 months of service.
May as well just keep your existing phone for 6 more months then use the new one once it unlocks.

Years ago when i did the 4 lines port + 4 years Amzn Prime + 4 free Samsung Galaxy J7s for $100 deal … some of the devices just laid around in drawers without service and unlocked after 6months thru their app. YMMV on that tho, dk if that's since changed.

Hmmm I wonder if phones can be unlocked from an e bay listing
Hey OP, How easy was it to get your account number and pin from boost mobile? I am waiting for my Sim card to come in the mail, and I signed in to see my new number and set a pin. Wondering if that same pin I set is the same pin for porting.
And did the metro store charge you any fees? Thanks
If I do not intend for the phone to be unlocked (have another metro account) how soon can I port out from metro back to another carrier after buying S21 so I can use the phone with different metro sim card? I know if I leave it for 30 days and after another 30 (without pay) the number dies phone became eligible for metro on another account.
Someone please explain how to link this to Boost Mobile $1 deal.
You sign up for a Boost Mobile $1 promo deal, wait for it to arrive, activate your Boost Mobile line/number, then port that number to Metro within the first month to avoid continued Boost Mobile charges? Does this deal require you buy a plan, or can you literally buy the phone, port in the # (onto a plan? So a plan is required?), then wait 6mo for it to be "liberated"?
Would appreciate if anyone can explain the mechanics of this in detail for those of us who literally are just in it to get a phone, don't care about # or service from any provider. (Already have Verizon post-paid and trying to get new phones for parents)
EDIT: I'm guessing Metro PCS plan is required during the 6 months, you can't just have Metro "hold" your ported # w/o service, if I am understanding the mechanics of # transfers correctly. So that would mean
$216 (phone + tax average estimate)
$20 activation fee (per Metro PCS fine print at bottom of page)
$35x6 (cheapest plan + taxes/fees) = $210
$1 boost mobile #
---------------------------------------------------------------------
~$447 total to acquire phone

In the fine print on metro website the cheapest plan when you sign up for this phone deal is $40. If you don't need service from metro, simply turn off auto pay or cancel the plan within the first month. Some have said that this phone will automatically unlock after six months, even if you do not have phone service with metro for the full six months. Aside from that your numbers seem correct, just reduce that $210 to 40 bucks.
The reason you would use the boost mobile one dollar monthly plan is so that you have a phone number to transfer, as you must port in to take advantage of this metro offer. It's like a burner number that you don't need and don't care if you lose it. This way you don't have to continue paying for six months of service with metro.
Anyone truly know how and if it will unlock the Samsung Galaxy s21 fe 5g? I'd hate to keep paying service beyond 30 days and then can't unlock and use different carrier. Can someone please enlighten us all with some assurance?
Can you use this on T-Mobile even if locked to Metro?
If you read what I posted before you. I am wondering the same thing if it will automatically unlock after 90 days if we pay only first month and ditch the plan. Let's see someone can give us some assurance.
