If you add 8gb of ram , meaning 16gb total... , its a basic laptop that will work for emulating upt to switch , but mordern games will struggle, for the price not sure why people expects 32gb ram , QHD screen, 1Tb ssd , etc ridiculous

Agreed. Anything higher res on this little screen would be a waste also

dont expect much for gaming, the 3050 will struggle with games like GOW , only if you add extra 8gb will run decent (seems comprehension problems...if you add 8gb its 16gb total to help run games decently)
He's not wrong, this will play many games low to med settings, and leave much to be desired. If this is all you can afford, then do it, but saying to buy more ram adds to the cost and you might as well look at something with a higher gpu

Anyone looking at a "gaming" laptop at this price likely knows what they're getting into. The benchmarks I've seen suggest that those people will be very happy with this

Tried looking it up myself but is there a certain type of bracket or type of 8gb stick of ram to get? How do I know what is compatible? Sorry clueless when it comes to building computers
Here's the SSD link: https://www.amazon.com/Drive-Moun...B097MYD2B6
If you want ram crucial's 8GB 3200Mhz won't hinder a 3050.

It's $15 for storage expansion bracket and $30 for another 8GB stick of ram. Assuming you already had a 1TB SSD in your previous laptop, this comes to $50 max.
I understand. But you see, you're already paying an asking price of about 750 including taxes for a undervolted/underperforming 5600H laptop. With said $50 cost of supplementary upgrade that's 800 minimum.
Not even 16 gb memory w/o even what should be a half terabyte of comfortable ssd these days. If you're a manufacturer with putting together a decent laptop to sell, at best they should at least be trying to saving costs thru bulk purchases and making a profit through mass production/ high unit sales.

This laptop is more like 'we'll give them minimum and charge them more than what it's worth.' But I'm the consumer and each manufacturer/retailer has different ideas about what should be.

There's a trick for Dell that you don't get with other manufacturers, you can use Cashback sites, make an account to get Dell Rewards cash, and the AMEX 120 off 599. If you don't do those it's not very good value. The 5600H isn't what matters here, and all manufacturers have 256 GB SSD in this range, if you can find a comparable laptop with a 1TB SSD for the same price please post it for everyone else. The Legion 5 is $1000+ for 3050 Ti and the IdeaPad gaming is $100 more on sale without discounts. The HP Victus has weak hinge and 60Hz screen with 256GB for $700. Every laptop has compromises and this one only compromises in weight and screen.

I see. The Amex incentive is something to consider.

Just recently picked up an "Excellent open box" model of this with the 512gb ssd for about the same price from my local BB (Looks brand new). So far I'm pretty pleased with it, from research it's fairly easy to upgrade the RAM and SSD (didn't know about the bracket, so thanks to whoever commented that). I do want to note, this is a "Backup/portable" solution for me.

I wasn't about to spend a grand on a laptop with crazy specs since it isn't going to be used as a primary system. For what this has and for the price I will be fine with it's gaming performance (or supposed lack there of lol) This will be the most powerful laptop I've ever used (I use desktop mostly) so that may make me a bit more gracious with my review. But I don't expect to need to replace this thing anytime soon after upgrading the RAM and adding an additional SSD. I think the only thing I would prefer at or slightly above this price point would be a 17" screen and a 3060 since it has additional VRAM. But sadly I didn't see any 'budget friendly' 17" laptops recently and anything with a 3060 is almost 1k.

Also note since this is a Ryzen chip it will greatly benefit from adding a second stick of RAM to run dual channel. I don't think it can handle more than 1.2v and 3200Mhz so keep that in mind when looking for upgrades.

Any deal you find that's not from black Friday week, people will be put down.
Some people need to buy items 3-6 months before or after November
