Tape up one of the holes from the inside so the flaps can still open and the hair should come out on its own. Some dirt will be left behind but you can tilt the dirt box so the dirt falls towards the open hole and run auto empty. I do this every few days.
Apparently this requires a single use bag for the self empty canister, and thus requires additional costs to run in the regular with this feature. Anyone find a reusable option for the bag?
Been wanting one for a while and have watched reviews on almost every single major brand/model. Went ahead and sprung for this one. This is a fantastic deal for self-empty + mopping
It does have an amazing mapping system. Once it mapout your house, you can simply draw lines to block out area that you dont want this vaccume goes.
I bought two of this model, the first one has been repaired once but broke again. It appears the wifi unit after sometime would stop working. The good news is that this model worked so well I almost rarely had to do anything, the bad news probably because I rarely cleaned it, the Deebot has become so dirty it might have something to do with the wifi broken.
In any case, I'm about to open the 2nd Deebot and recreate the map while keep working with their customer service for a possible fix of the first unit.
After almost two years, I'd say this Deebot is great for what it does, avoiding objects, self empty, minimum care. About the only thing is the wifi and map. The map seemed all screw up each time you pick it up or intervene in any manner. The mapping is really fragile. So it's best to be left alone. Paired with the extra mopping unit it maps the floor really well too. I have a hard floor so I can't say about carpet floor.
The price point is so good it's impossible to find a vacuum bot that does avoiding object, self-empty and a mopping all together at this price range. Yet the downside is the wifi and mapping, which are something disappointing and certainly shy from the level of other top brand names. Well, there is no free lunch.
I literally went and googled the issue I'm having right after my original post and found a YouTube video where one of the commenters said to do that. Taped up half of one hole. Ran auto empty and it pulled the entire clump of hair no problem. Talk about genius. I'll mark your comment helpful in case someone else has the same issue.
Yeah I saw the solution online when I first got the t8. Taping half of one hole might actually allow the leftover dirt to get sucked out. Ill give that a try.
Actually just watched vacuum wars on it lol. It looks like it does have some type of avoidance system in his review with the use of lasers on the front rather than cameras on the t8
This unit does NOT have avoidance. It's the N8 Pro that has the obstacle avoidance sensors.

That's the pro model. This one doesn't have 3d laser to avoid objects
