Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

Yes, you must be a T-Mobile customer for 24 months to receive the 24 bill credits ($9/mo promotional credit on the $9/mo financed phone) to make the phone "free". So yes, you need to have a T-Mobile account and be paying for service. If you're not an existing customer and am asking about signing up for T-Mobile service just to take advantage of this free phone offer, don't bother. There are better phone promotions for new accounts and new lines. Plan prices vary depending on what you want, what discounts are available to you (55 older, military, etc.?); go to www.t-mobile.com [t-mobile.com] and look under Plans for the various options.

You're not locked out of promotions for 2 years. Simply pay off the Nord N200 balance and sign up for any new promotion. You'll still get the Nord N200 bill credits through the life of this promotion. "If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (R..... [t-mobile.com]." I'm currently receiving 3 promotional credits associated with one of my family plan lines.
Well, you are a bit locked in. I have done several stacking phone deal promotions. Leaves me with a negative balance each month. So I need to continue beyond the 24 months to get all of my credits.

I had to do this over the phone as the check out kept crapping out online. The phone agent was awful but somehow managed to placed the order.

But now I have received an email asking me to docusign for the EIP agreement and that link takes you to the docusign site with a system error.

Does anything work with T-Mobile?

Would participating in this offer affect ability to upgrade the phone on the same line in 6 months or so?

Any recommendations for a slim case for this? Not armor plated bulky ones. Just for grip and lip over screen to protect it when face down.

Why lock yourself into a contract for a phone that sells for $140 on swappa and eBay.
Why lock yourself into a contract for any device? The only good reason I see is if you have a killer plan rate on T-Mobile and are not leaving for the next two years anyway. If that is the case, then it would actually be dumb not to do the deal for the free phone, because you can you flip it for extra cash, donate it to a shelter, give it to your kid, use it as a security cam, or have it around as a backup.

I give $200 to TM(which I will pay my monthly bills anyway for the next "X" years), and TM give me credit back for the next X years, why not? I am not even on their contract.

If any ebay sellers would do the same for me, I am in.

For some, the last concept is either too much work, or hard to grasp, or both.

Free phone and making extras are what SD is all about.

US consumers are so fortunate.

QQ. People who did the trade-in at T-Mobile retail store. How long did it take for you to receive a text from T-Mobile confirming you got enrolled in the promotion?

I did my trade-in at the T-Mobile store on 5/20. I am yet to receive the text and I couldn't find anything around promotion enrollment, in my T-Mobile account as well.

Guys... you're not that locked in. This deal is pretty sweet. Tmobile sells this phone full price $9 x 24 months = $216. Even if you wanted to just pay for this phone same as ebay for $140, you would just have to keep it for 8 months ($9 x 8 = $72) and if you decide to pay it off ($216 - 72 = $144).

Technically you're only locked in for 8 months if you want to risk taking a free phone and change your mind later. After 8 months, you'll continually be reducing the price of the phone so this is only a bad deal if you're going to change from tmobile less than 8 months... Which most of us aren't going to do. It's simple math.... but for some people even $140 is too much money, which I get it but if you're poor you're poor.. just move on.

This one https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09QW...K9KGD4M6JJ , works well with the one caveat that it seem to trigger "pocket mode" on the phone but you can turn that off.

How long does the promo credit shown on the account? I already got billed for the device but no credit yet. Trade-in proceeds in-store. The last year I did the same offer, the credit appeared a few hours after the EIP was added.

Ordered one online and received a text message saying "Please return your trade-in device to a retail store or send your old T-mobile device within 30 days of receiving the new one". Does it mean I can drop off the trade-in phone to a retail store to complete the trade-in process?

Yes. Go to a T-Mobile store and tell them that you are dropping off a trade-in phone.
