EVGA being American doesn't mean anything really. It produces it's products overseas in China, Taiwan, Costa Rica...etc...It should be viewed as a multinational corporation. They do not operate to benefit any country or it's citizens (sans shareholders + executives)

We are coming out of a once in 100yr pandemic that has influenced markets including PC hardware. It is not normal and as such should not be used as a quantifier for normal conditions.

We are also midst an energy crisis from a major war, which is not normal. (increase supply costs, but decreased mining demand)

What we can use as predictors.....history...and more importantly demand that we as consumers control. If we purchase at these prices, it guarantees prices will not go down. If we do not...they will.

Where do you see it retail for 899?

Its been at least 6 months that it has not gone below MSRP $999

Id say the average price has been around 1100-1200.

Its DEFINATELY coming down in price.

lol almost every review I've seen comparing 3080 vs 6900xt on 4k performance clearly shows 6900xt trampling 3080s in performance.

It's probably coming down ahead of the 6950 XT refresh release which could come in at around the same MSRP ($1000).

It's another indication that the refresh (6950, 6750, 6650 but no 6850) is very close. Prelim benchmark suggests the 6950 will be about 20% faster than the 6900. Supposedly due the end of the month, but we shall see.

Yeah, makes no sense. 6900xt is suppose to compete with the 3090s not 3080s. Obviously golden tiger doesn't know what he's talking about

Poor drivers and no DLSS plus poor raytracing perf = NO from me. Nvidia gives me joy with RTX ON! Got my rtx 3080 ftw3 ultra hybrid water cooled in Dec 2020 from evga queue for $779 + tax. As with most buying such an expensive card I run in 4k, where amd slows down.
Nvidia has hype-boys spamming Slickdeals now? Yeesh. 6900 XT beats the 3080 in pure rasterization. Blurry textures might give you joy, but I keep turning off DLSS in my games..

Nice card, for a good price, this thing will rock your gaming world, you will be able to run any game available at max settings.
Your decision is buy this or wait a few months for new cards at a much higher price.

Finally prices are getting there. 10% below msrp....albeit an overpriced msrp. This is where all cards should be about now at the least.
Compared to what? When it launched, it was a 'deal' compared to the 3090. As a buyer of an MSRP 3080 at launch, this is still a good deal if you want a card now and can't wait for the next gen. Sure, cards will probably go slightly cheaper before then but $100 MSRP for a card that is a noticeable upgrade from one that already is more than enough to get through a console generation is alright imo

If you don't have to have EVGA Nvidia cards (best IMO, EVGA is American too) - I would get it if you need a card.

A theory that I dont think will happen is people are holding out for the next gen cards to release, thus the demand is down hints stock/pricing but when 40 series releases and AMD's equivalent, there will be a shortage all over again.. the other theory is that demand is slowing down because more people have the cards they want and things will continue to get better with some bumps possible at launch but nothing as bad as we seen it for as long term.

When you buy this card, you're taking a gamble on the future. For the same price or less by waiting a little while longer, you could get a much more powerful GPU. On the flipside if the first theory I mentioned were to happen, you'd be waiting and waiting for prices to get to this level even with these current cards.

Personally if you need a card now, get this or Nvidia. They're way better than what many people had to settle for at much worse prices. If you have a cash back card or something similar where it can cut some more money off, it gets you even closer to MSRP. MSRP is nothing to complain about right now.

If its a non-super-important upgrade.. I would wait. There's a very strong likelyhood of 40 series releasing in the near future. Just note that it wont be weeks but months away. If you are ontop of it you can use EVGA's queue system. Its how I was able to get my 3080 before most YouTubers and streamers even.. its a great system that locks you into MSRP without extreme botting like on most retail sites.
What does "EVGA is American" mean? I honestly can't think of an answer, hence my literal inquiry.

Compared to historical gpu pricing where time after launch is factored in.

I have both the rtx 3090 and the 6900xt and in warzone, the 6900xt constantly getting higher FPS.... i can't blame the rtx 3090 exactly...because i'm getting LOW FPS for reason's I cannot fathom.

Running dual monitors at 1440p, warzone on max settings (except SSR). I was getting about 150-170 FPS in windowed full screen on RTX 3090. DLSS = ON
6900xt gets me 170-195 at a lower price tag.

Paid $1650 for 3090 FE
Paid $1000 for 6900xt.

I'm not sure about that. We don't know for sure, but I've seen things say it is only about 3-5% improvement. No way to know for sure until we actually see them.
