That's cool. You can still utilize HDMI 2.1 on various LCDs, but it disables the local dimming resulting in a washed out picture. I don't recommend using it at all. There's a ton of videos about it on YouTube if you want to see how it looks. Gaming is not a priority for the Sony Home Theater Division. There's a rumor that Sony delayed the PS5 VRR update because their TVs weren't ready for it. News Flash, every PS5 is using a different display to game on. I hope this post will be useful to you and anyone else who's thinking about utilizing this TV or any HDMI 2.1 compatible Sony LCD for current gen gaming.
