I have the 75" from November/December deal. The manual mentions Hisense and the Toshiba name is licensed. It's been a great TV with Dolby Vision and works very well. Best TV I've purchased and for a great price. I'd say comparable to LG's LCD brightness, which is on the dimmer side compared to the bigger brands, but I think brighter than LG's.

I think BF this was $499. I pulled the trigger but I have to measure space in my new place so I hope it fits. Like that you can choose the day and time window for delivery because I wanted to wait to order a tvbut I know these deals dont last.

I actually think HiSense makes good TVs but still prefer the Toshiba name on it even if its just branding, lol.

I was going to buy the LG 65UQ8000 going on sale at Costco tomorrow for $549 but pulled the trigger on this instead as someone on Reddit claimed the lowest model LG is garbage

The lowest model LG from 2021 actually outperformed this Toshiba C530. Keep in mind that the Toshiba C530 has poor upscaling of 720p content or below so hopefully you are not using a cable box to watch your TV.

As mentioned in the M550 thread, the M550 seems to basically be a re-badged U7G minus 4K@120Hz capability. Key spec advantages of the 65M550 vs. the 65C350: more brightness, WCG, FALD, 120Hz panel (for better motion/judder handling), VRR(4K@60Hz).

A lot of people have reported issues with the m550 in the Best Buy reviews, not sure if the firmware addressed it

Main difference as I can see in specs is full array local dimming vs direct lit. I dont know what exactly that means in viewing difference but given cost difference of only $50 - I have gone w M550. Most negative review on M550 complains about not having 120Hz native frequency for 4K HDMI - again less of a factor for me as of now. Also, reviews of all sizes are lumped together and as per one reviewer - 75" TV does seem to have 120Hz native. So I am taking a chance and spending extra 50.

I'm thinking of the Vizio M Series at Sam's Club. Main complaint on that is OS but plan to use a Google Chromecast/Roku

I got the 55" version and find myself having to pull out the remote batteries often because the remote stops working. No clue if it is user error or a "feature".

Hisense buys Toshiba's TV business [ertonline.co.uk]
Quote :
Hisense has agreed to buy Toshiba's TV business for ¥12.9 billion (£86.6 million).

Hisense Electric, a subsidiary of the Hisense Group, agreed the takeover today (November 14), which will see it purchase 95 per cent of shares in Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation (TVS).

TVS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, will continue to own the remaining five per cent of stock rights.

The acquisition will see the combined Japanese TV market share for Hisense and Toshiba hit 20 per cent.

According to financial services company IHS, Hisense's market share for TVs is the highest among all of the foreign brands in Japan.

Hisense will obtain the TV business including production, research and development (R&D), and sales functions.
My 75C350KU was made in Mexico per the label on the back.

I think you mean 350. If you look at rtings review of the C350s, you will see they only tested the 43" model...

we tested the 55 inch model with an IPS-like panel, and the 50 inch model should have a VA panel, but we don't know for sure which panels the other sizes have.
Most of my television watching is of SD content and I assure you, the 75C350KU, at least, does a great job scaling that content to the 75" screen. I always recommend people take a ride to their local retailer and see the picture quality for themselves.

Same price at Amazon [amazon.com] when applying the $150 coupon it seems.

Very tempted to purchase as 65 inches is the max my TV stand can support and I've been looking for the best deal possible for awhile now.

However, given the crazy low prices that I've seen on TV's the past few weeks, I'm wondering if I should wait for even a better deal...

Tbh this doesn't seem like a particularly great deal. I don't have any experience with this set but it seems to be on the low end

Here are some better options worth considering:

65" Toshiba M550 - $529
65" Hisense U6G - $495
65" Hisense U6H - $599 ($550 on sale)

All are made by the same manufacturer as the one in this thread and should offer significantly better picture quality
