If anyone is interested, you CANNOT get these working at 2K without using the eufy app.

RTSP will only work at 1080P via something like blue iris. It makes a big difference so be wary of that's what you're thinking.

Bought this last time when it was on sale. After selecting human only and lowering the sensitivity I still get a ton of false alerts.

This has not been my experience. They over night cameras and ask you ship the broken one back AFTER you receive new one. I had one stuck in night mode. They told me to keep it and use it until the replacement was set up and gave me a free label to ship it back out after.

Noob here. If this is an outdoor camera with a wire. How does one plug it in? Am I going to drill a tiny hole in my wall so that the wire can pass through to a outlet?

Thanks OP. In for 6 cameras. Pick up is next Tuesday (too long!)

I do need 8 total, and for the front of my house, I was thinking if it is a better choice to go with the Eufy 1080p Floodlight deal for $100 on a sale too right now:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15792970-eufy-security-floodlight-camera-1080p-99-99-fs?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I was concerned that the spotlight on this 2k spotlight camera is not too bright, and a brighter one can help deter any thieves in the middle of the night.

I will wait for any feedback on this, and will order the 2 more remaining cameras. Thanks!

If you have outdoor light bulbs, you can get bulb to usb/socket adapter if that area is protected from water

I have Synology NAS to record the RTSP stream and I could use synology app to view the stream securely. I don't want to build a PC for blue iris since I have Synology NAS. Anyway, I don't understand why Eufy didn't make that user can add username and password for RTSP stream. I also like to see all my camera live views with tinycam app but I can't open Eufy to public without username and password.
how many cameras can you record to synology?

You can find something like this - https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-lamp-socket

The USB adapter on these is way too long, doesn't fit inside a normal outdoor outlet cover. Eufy needs to make them iPhone adapter size, not just reuse the same adapter as their indoor models.

I try this before…hated it! Always give false alarm even with diff settings.
I do have the other eufy cams and those are great (the bigger ones).
This has been my experience too. I love my Eufy doorbell which has like a 99.9% hit rate with detection and is truly wonderful (especially nice when the Amazon person just drops the package and I dont hear them...but the cam picks it up). This thing, well, I'm glad its for my back patio that basically never sees any traffic but me. In a rainstorm, it FREAKS OUT and sends me alerts every 10s. A spider web had a similar effect.

I'm pretty happy with its spotlight, but I've zoned off a very narrow sliver of the camera view to try and avoid so many false alarms.

But for the price, its nice to have. If I was putting it in a public facing spot (busy sidewalk, cars passing by, etc), Id look elsewhere

I ended up buying a 90-degree USB adapter for my outdoor outlet, but yes, this too was also annoying. That said, I do like how long the power cord is.

The spotlight is as bright as a cellphone spotlight. Its there only for the video to be captured in color

How can a cam not have a live view in 2022? That's one of the most important features of a a cam.
It has live view. What it does not have that Wyze has is live view of all cameras in a group. This operates like Arlo and others where the last static snapshot is loaded when you open the app, then you click on a specific camera to go in to live view for the camera. Wyze allows you to put cameras in to groups, then as you launch the app and go in to those groups, all cameras show live view.

If anyone is specifically looking for this info: this is NOT one of Eufy's HomeKit compatible security cameras.
No clue why you're being TD'd; I have to guess the negative marks are because some users aren't aware Eufy has mixed HomeKit compatibility and a few empty promises so, those who are aware of this and look for the HomeKit enabled Eufy devices appreciate your dropping this note.

Can you tell me what a home kit gives? I have a bunch of older eufy cameras with eufy home base that are home kit compatible but I've never used homekit before. I presume this integrates with my home base and eufy app just fine
If you're invested in the Apple HomeKit ecosystem, the Eufy cameras and accessories that are HomeKit certified can be added to Apple Home without any third party tooling such as HooBs, HomeBridge, et cetera.

One "benefit" of that integration is, you never have to worry about third party support or reliability as the devices are directly communicating with your HomeKit Hub (an iPad, AppleTV, or HomePod.)

Another benefit of that integration is the ability to use various sensors and devices in automation directly; not all sensors and devices are supported by thiryd party HomeKit tooling, though the developers really do their best to try to make things work.

The last benefit of HomeKit enabled devices is the ability to use HKSV (HomeKit Secure Video.) This is of interest to those who appreciate assurances around their privacy - HKSV is local encryption between the device and your iCloud account so no one can view or intercept your streams. Don't know why in the world you would get downvoted for this considering some of them are HomeKit compatible and it's not always clear. Thank you!
