There's no stuttering or abnormal behavior, it behaves like a desktop, except that sometimes Windows doesn't automatically use the eGPU and uses the onboard graphics, and it's not clear why. Sometimes have to just restart the game, sometimes have to reboot the PC or power cycle the eGPU. But most of the time it works fine.
Some reviews say you have to connect the monitor directly to the eGPU - mine is connected through the NUC, which is better cause you can leave the eGPU off when not gaming. But it might depend on the laptop.

I bought once and returned because it's terribly heavy & large, solid build quality & design though. Well at this price I'll bite again, especially the aluminum version.
You're probably going to run into an issue trying to use a 3090 with this, unless it happens to be the EVGA XC3 3090.
The PSU included with this eGPU only provides two 8-pin PCIe cables. Most of the 3090's require three 8-pin PCIe cables for power. The EVGA XC3 is the only one that I'm aware of that only requires two 8-pin PCIe cables for power.
It will fit physically, but most 3090s are incompatible with the PSU, requiring three 8-pin power cables whereas this only provides two.
