Probably because it's a complete pain in the ass to meet someone to do the exchange for $10. Not sure what your time is worth

I added the batteries to my cart and proceeded to check out and then a side window came up with all the "free" tools that are part of the deal.

Is it better than the Ryobi reciprocating saw with a pruning blade?
Yeah I'd say so

The cordless fan is not picture among the free tools you can get. Do these deals ever include the fan, or do you always have to get it separately? I really want the fan, but it would be $150 all in for me (since I don't really use many tools otherwise)

Nm. I tried to add it to cart, and fan works too!!!

That 2 gal sprayer works great. Many people crack the cap by tightening to tight. Their is no reason to tighten more than finger tight.

As the OP mentioned, looks like items must be delivered to same place.
I've never tried to tighten the cap and mine still cracked. laugh out loud

Deal only allows me to add the fogger and chemical sprayer and that's it...
If you add one of the other tools listed to your cart manually along with the battery set, it will show up at the correct sale price in your cart. The deal just went live today, I'm sure they'll have it fixed soon.

Hmm, they only have my existing inferior line trimmer as part of the deal. I was really hoping to get the bump feed version that allows attachments.

It works on all the items pictured. Simply add the batteries to your cart. Then look for the "free" tool from the picture that you want. Add that tool to your cart and the prices should adjust in your cart. It did for me with the hedge trimmer. Made both the tool and the batteries $49.50 each. I hope this helps.

I'm not really sure why more people don't actually sell the pieces that they don't want on Marketplace, you make more money back than you do just by taking it back to the store for a prorated refund.
If you hold on to the batteries until after Ryobi day is over especially, you can easily get a hundred bucks for him making it a truly free tool if all you wanted was the tool.

It would be more than $10. The prorated amount is usually around $55 or so,depending on the original price of the tool.

I've done this before and usually get $85 to $90 out of the batteries. It's not that bad dealing with marketplace for tools, just respond to a few messages and set a meeting place and I've never had any issues.

Hmm I bought this exact battery set 50 days ago. I already opened the box though and used the battery just once. Do you think I could return it still or ask them to give me a tool? The returns say there's a 90 day window for unopened boxes....

I saw posted elsewhere that there would be a Ryobi Days promotion that also included HP tools. I'm gonna hold off for now in hopes that is true.

Does home depot no longer accept returns on stuff that's been opened? Man, it's been a few years...
