The xenia is way lighter than the enduro by about 2 lb or half the enduro weight and significantly smaller size. it is not bad but not as durable as the enduro which is built to take more abuse.

I have a tongfang chassic motile and i dropped it from 1 foot onto a hard tile floor and one of the corner cracked and broke off. I was able to superglue it back. But my point is that the magnesium composite chassic of these tongfang laptops are a bit liable to shatter instead of just being deeply dented or bented as compared to more traditional aluminum metal type chassic.

The xenia is however, still a very good laptop though. It has two usb-c with DP and PD, one more than the enduro. Xenia also have two nvme slots while the enduro only has one. xenia also has a slight bigger 16:10 1200p screen. However, the xenia is more expensive by $130.

Both has HDMI 2.0 and two sodimms as well as a separate power connector so you don't have to use a dock while using the usb-c for video. Both has backlit keyboards

If you want a 14in notebook with usb-c with DP and PD, HDMI 2.0, and 2 sodimm, backlit keys, I think the enduro is probably the cheapest option right now.. But the xenia is also a good option if you want lighter weight with a bit more stuffs

If you are ok with getting a 15in laptop, you have the option of HP pavilion which also have usb-c with DP and PD, HDMI 2.0, two sodimm, and backlit keys, 1080p screen with 5500u cpu for $480:

Durability is pretty good, in the sense that it's an all-metal chassis.
However, since they had to keep the weight low, there's a little flex to the keyboard (only if you press in the center too hard) and wobble to the screen when you're using it while traveling.

Nothing too bothersome, but something the buyer should be aware of.

For anyone who has this laptop, would you say this is durable enough to withstand a fall from couch level?

This seems a little too good to be true?

2 ram slots, 2 nvme slots fully upgradable, not soldered
16:10 14" screen

They managed to get that at 2.1lbs for only $700? Surely there's some caveat, particularly in regards to durability?

Well the Acer Enduro N3 Urban has very similar hardware and was $580 so this is the going rate.

Definitely the wobbly hinge seems to be the caveat. I might get one that's easily returnable.

I just need a laptop for work. Will this be good enough? Emails, virtual terminal and 8-10 internet tabs open at the same time.

It would be more than enough for that. I'd definitely recommend this.

There are definitely some good cheaper options too (that way you can save some money) for example, this great deal which has a faster RAM but inferior screen: https://slickdeals.net/f/15796198-msi-prestige-14-evo-14-fhd-ips-i5-1155g7-16gb-lpddr4x-512gb-pcie-ssd-thunderbolt-4-win10h-549-f-s?src=catpagev2

But, if you want a premium all-rounder laptop at a mid-range price then this is it.

Would I be able to use a eGPU with this?

I have an RTX 3060 in the box waiting to build a PC around but haven't found a good enough deal on the rest of the components to finish it. Main purpose I have for the 3060 is to play VR games with my Quest 2. Don't really want/need a desktop adding clutter to my house (use MacBook as everyday computer and Xbox series x for gaming)

Does this deal signify the chip shortage is coming to an end? Yippy, if it is. 😊

A $700 quad-core from the previous generation signifies an end to the chip shortage?

As far as being able to use an eGPU with this is concerned, yes you can via the thunderbolt 4 port on this device.
