If you look at the linked video in my previous post for the disassembly and parts upgrade, this 2022 model, TE02 series looks completely different and bigger than the 2021 model (TE01). This looks like a slightly redesigned HP Omen 25L Desktop which mostly uses standard components like ATX motherboard and Power supply. The CPU Cooler height is also bigger compared to the last year model.

Also, after doing some digging, I am finally able to found out the exact motherboard detail and that is a good news because it is using standard uATX form factor. The Bios SSID is 894B and from their, I was able to found the details:

Why don't you share the link so that we can compare the features of those two?

Legit concern: the YT video shows about 1" left of space between the (assuming 3060) stock card and the front of the unit, due to the placement of a hard drive cage right there. If that were removed, you'd have a bit more room for longer cards.

That said, without knowing the specs of the 3060 unit in use, it's hard to compare and know what would and wouldn't work. But based on the fact you can spec this with a 3070Ti, it's clear at least HP's version of that would work...

Trying to figure out what's best, newbie.

I like the NZXT build below, almost all the same components, but the only knock is the CPU is i5-10400F. Is there a big difference between 10th and 12th generation? I like the upgrade ability of NZXT which doesn't use proprietary parts. Any advice would help?

https://nzxt.com/product/starter-plus
Yes, big difference. Aside from performance the 12th gen CPUs are ready for ddr5 and pcie5. This particular HP doesn't use proprietary parts. That NZXT has a slower, 3060 vs the 3060 ti in this PC. The NZXT is not a deal whatsoever at $1200.

This isn't entirely true.

You'll get the added capacity, but it's not going to run in dual channel bandwidth on every motherboard.

Also, no need to match latencies if you're just going to haphazardly throw random dimms in.

A properly paired 16GB set isn't that expensive compared to a single 8GB dimm anyway, but the fact that manufacturers aren't including it as standard is just insulting at this point.
If you put two 8GB stick lin any motherboard supporting dual channel memory, irrespective of their speed or latency, they'll alway run in dual channel and that's absolutely true. What will happen is that both will run at the speed of the lower one and higher latency.
But feel free to provide any proof or review showing your claim. Let's not make up stuffs.

And have you opened the link? HP does provide all kind of memory upgrade option over there. Only reason it hasn't been chosen because the price is always way higher than you're doing it after purchasing the desktop.

Thank you. I don't have EPP account.
However, I checked out with Military Discount and it comes out to be $1,004.99 + TX with 256MB nvme HD. I might go with this option since I plan to upgrade the HD with 1GB nvme as well as adding another 8GB RAM.

So if i wanted to upgrade the memory to 16gb, what is a link to one i can buy? Sorry, if this is a dumb question. I just don't want to be a t-force 8gb memory outside and find out isn't not compatible.

Anyone recommend a new pc that's good for four k viewing and not gaming that has at least two 4k ports via HDMI or display port or both? I'm assuming this pc does that as well?

I advise to wait until you receive your PC, then order a similar RAM to the one that comes with your system.

That's a Thunderbolt 4 Port which comes with that feature by default. And usefulness can be using Thunderbolt docks or other devices with Power Delivery capability.

I was looking at https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...toreID=epp
v/s
https://slickdeals.net/f/15801973-hp-envy-desktop-i5-12400-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-thunderbolt-4-800w-gold-psu-wi-fi-6-win11h-1016-99?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1
I am curious as to how the community finds out about the non-propriety nature of the motherboard/PSU for the above deal, and how I could figure those things out for myself for the TE01 envy model. (I am looking at that one, as it is ready to ship, as opposed to the other one which ships a few weeks from now).

Any other thoughts on the comparison would also be appreciated.

I have a love/hate thing for these PC deals, lol. I'll read the comments and see "nice/ great deal" and also "rip off, I build better". Being a complete noob on what are good gaming PC specs, it's hard to pull the trigger for me. Will a better deal come around? Will this double in price if another wave of C19 hits? Is it worth the investment now? What if it sells out before I finally decide to get it? Impulse buy/buyers regret later? Maybe some of these comments are false/true info? 😞
