I grabbed one of these simply because I wanted a small portable monitor so the fact it has HDMI input was a big deal. I use a M1 iPad pro as my daily driver for a tablet so this was more of a fun purchase. Having this in my bag and being able to connect Switch or Steam Deck to it is really nice. I loaded up the tablet itself with emulators and it does an amazing job running the tougher consoles like PS2, Gamecube, Wii. Ive got quite a few of those games running at full speed. The sound is really impressive with the sound bar style speakers on the bottom and 2 upfiring speakers at the top with Atmos support. Im incredibly impressed with it as a portable entertainment device. If you are a power user looking for something as a daily driver, this is probably not for you It's design doesnt lend well to a keyboard case and it has no productivity (desktop) mode, no SD card slot, and no support for external drives. Go with a Galaxy 6/7/8 or an iPad Air instead. But if you are a gamer, like retro emulation, streaming video, and like the idea of your tablet doubling as a portable monitor for your laptop or game console, this is for you. They even include the mini HDMI to HDMI cable in the box so you are ready to go day 1.

This is a good tablet for media consumption but DO NOT upgrade it to android 12 when you get it. Lenovo botched the 12 upgrade and broke a bunch of stuff including tap to wake, volume control, etc. They claim they are going to push an update at the end of June.

Snapdragon 870 and A13 Bionic processors have similar performance that within 5% of each other.
This one has a larger screen that can be used as mobile monitor. That is an attractive feature for some users .

Yes, it can run off from tablet battery so you don't need to plug it to power

It was announced late 2021, model numbers are: mq13ah, mq16ah, and they have a page on Asus' site. No release date yet, but if it's not vaporware it should come out some time this year.

I've using this for 6 months and love it for media consumption, it is too big and awkward for gaming, the 11" version is better for that. The included stand is awesome for various viewing angles. The micro HDMI is great for use as 2nd monitor for my laptop when I am in a meeting and still need to be productive.

I think this is the biggest tablet you can buy for $400.

Yes battery powered and the battery life is great. The tablet touch screen only works for controlling brightness and show battery life when in monitor mode. So it doesn't add touch controls to whatever you are connecting to it.

Lag is very minimal too, if you were wondering about that.
