In the past, I was able to price match with Best Buy to avoid shipping fees

Is this also on sale in store for 19.99 like in the past? Or online only?

The last time they had it online, someone commented in store was regular price.

Costco has a variety of monthly sales, including an online-only sale, and a business center sale. So it's possible for something to be on sale online but not in-store, and vice versa. Or something to be on sale at their business centers (I only discovered last year that these are different from the normal Costco stores), but not in their normal stores nor online. The items which are on sale in their regular monthly flyer do however seem to go on sale both in-store and online. (But not at their business centers - can make shopping at both tricky since you have to keep track of what is on sale where. Note that business center regular pricing can be different from their normal store regular pricing.)

That said, I get the impression that inventories are tight (the supply chain issues we keep hearing about). Last time these were on sale in the store, they were not present in my store until the day the sale began. Another item (Rao's pasta sauce) didn't show up in my local store until the day the sale began, quickly sold out, and wasn't restocked until 2 weeks later.

If you've never been to a Costco Business Center and there's one nearby, I suggest visiting it once. They're bigger, and carry some items which intermittently or never show up in their normal stores. Mostly business stuff (if you ever wondered why a lot of restaurant take-out boxes look identical). But I've found it a more reliable place to get certain food items which only occasionally show up at their normal stores. You probably only get the business center monthly flyer if you're an executive member, but I believe anyone with a regular membership can shop inside.

For lightweight and expandability, nothing beats the xenia 14in imo. it's barely two lb. Has two sodimm slots to upgrade all the way to 64GB ram, two nvme slots, one HDMI 2.0 and two usb-c with PD and DP functions. All for $700:

For ruggedness, the acer enduro urban N3 14in is hard to beat for $570. It has two sodimm slots for upgrading ram all the way to 64gb also. As well as usb-c with DP and PD and HDMI 2.0. However it is heavier at 4lb and sized like a 15in laptop:

For an all around 15.6in laptop, the costco HP pavilion for $550 is very good. It also have two sodimm slots, one usb-c with PD and DP, and HDMI 2.0. It's about 3.9lb:

All three of these also have backlit keyboards. The xenia screen is actually 1920X1200, slightly higher resolution than 1080p in the other two. the HP has a touchscreen

Great suggestion! I would like to add LG Gram 15.6" Laptop 11th Gen. i5-1135G7 16GB RAM 512GB SSD as another good option for college; light and very long runtime. It's was on sale for less than $700 at Costco not long along. You may keep an eye out for it at Costco or other vendors.

Dubious distinction of being the most expensive 3050 laptop at $2000? I am not sure if all that ram and ssd space and 4K screen can make up for that price!

I think the creative cloud bundle really needs to be factored in on this one. This is not cheap software like the 1 yr mcafee you typically get with new laptops even though it is only 3 months.

But for the most part I agree, this seems way too high for a 3050.
