I have two. They need TCM2209 drivers to be silent. I think these are so loud as is. Those drivers run about $30 so factor that in

Does this model require less fiddling and upgrades than an Ender 3 Pro? I want a decent printer that doesn't involve a ton of tinkering to get it working.

From my quick read of reviews it's is easier to setup and less mods required. I however do not have either so take with a grain of salt.

I love my Ender 3 Pro but I man the upgrades are annoying. I only tried to upgrade the magnetic Matt to Glass, spent $20 but didn't get anything to stick to glass and had to remove it. Also printed drawers for it that didn't fit and I had to print 3 times.

Just wish they would listen to the community and sell upgraded versions.

I want to do the self leveling thing for $50 but don't have the 20 hours I need to research on YouTube to make sure I buy the right part.

Ender 3 Pro was $99 this one is $219 and slightly larger print size.

Personally, I'd recommend a V2 at the $150-170 pricepoint before this...unless you need the 300^2 bed. Silent, glass, nice UI...just upgrade to yellow springs and you're set.

Get a Prusa. Is it the best in the world? No, it's a very old design but Prusa has squeezed every drop out of it. It simply works as does Prusas profiles. I preordered an XL after having enough of my Ender Pro. Can't wait to get it.

I wonder if it has the same issue as the i3 with the hotbed cable zip tied to one of the leveling screws? That was the first thing I changed before printing the test file.

the anycubic is loud. youll probably hate it. if you replace the motor drivers it will quiet down considerably. but you will also want to replace the rails/bearings, extruder drive, hotend assembly, power supply...

this printer is OK for like a few months of 'fark it' use, but needs a lot of upgrades to make it reliable and not annoying (quiet). it does have a solid frame, and easy to source upgrade parts... so its actually a very good beginner printer in that sense. it will work out of the box, and you can learn about everything through the firmware and upgrades you do. and then you see the results... after weeks of monkeying around and hundreds more dollars spent, you will end up with a pretty damn nice setup.
