Not bad. Better for contrast and color, slightly worse for response time and input lag. Slightly worse viewing angles. But with a monitor, you're going to be looking straight (most likely). It's a good panel at a very reasonable price. Not a top tier gaming monitor, but a good mid. Perfect for the budget-minded modern gamer.

For those that need the frame rate primarily for fps and time sensitive competitive play. 60hz ain't going to cut it.

If you are playing something like riven or flight simulator or a grand visual game that isnt so response time dependent maybe 60 hz is fine if you have a great 4k monitor.

Trying to figure out what the Micro USB port is used for, or why its even there, and all I can find is in the user guide, all it says is "• One (1) Micro USB port: For Elite Ally use only"... what?

The Elite Ally is a touchscreen peripheral for accessing menus etc while playing.

I bought the S2722DGM about a month ago, and had to return it. The ghosting and black smearing was terrible. If you look at light text on a dark background, and scroll up or down, the text becomes literally unreadable. And while playing a game, anything light against a dark background will have major smearing with any movement. I have always used VA panels, and although there is always some of this. With this monitor it was on another level of bad.

The G7 is the only VA panel I've used and can say is great

I have the same monitor and I find this anecdote completely off base. It sounds like every VA bad review that almost stopped me from buying VA in the first place. I use dark mode reddit and game for 6+ hours a day(in other words too much) and the only time I have ever noticed any difference from my other non-VA panels is in Path of Exile with certain color labels under text. I'm really happy with it because contrast matters to me. Everything looks vibrant and deep and I have never noticed smearing in a game, it's exactly what I wanted in a high contrast curved monitor. Dell also has a great return policy so if your monitor was that bad I would not keep it but mine certainly is nearly flawless.

*If you play PoE then I'm talking about items on the ground. It's a LITTLE blurry when I'm moving with some color combinations and the only one I used that was really bad was black on purplish-grey (filterblade Velvet).

Ironically perhaps, my first gaming monitor was a low latency BenQ TN panel which has absolutely horrid ghosting.
