Own these. You NEED some power behind them for them to really shine. Originally used them with my midrange Marantz and they were horrible.
Bought a cambridge cxa81 and they are magnificent. Paired with an svs pb2000 sub and they do double duty as a 2.1 home theater (I don't much care for 5.1 and prefer stereo). The sub is not completely necessary for music unless you're a bass head.
It's all chinese. This "KLH" is not the KLH of old. It's just an exercise in marketing to cash in on the resurgence of hifi. You'll be finding these speakers for $100 a pair on craigslist soon enough.
This is a good point. KLH as a company has changed hands in ownership many times since its glory days of the 60's. Not to say anything negative about the sound or construction quality of these. Acoustic suspension is an old design and actually produced very good audio. These remind me of my Large Advents.
These started at $1000/speaker and are now regular priced $1250 MSRP. At $800 these are a steal.

Better than Klipsch Heresy IV; Better than JBL L100; Best Speaker under $2000/pair; A standout of 2021
This deal is for anyone who is into high end audiophile vintage speakers and 2 channel listening.
Yes, in Andrew Robinson's room, with his musical tastes and his experience, he really loved them. No substitute for hearing them for yourself. Someone else's ears aren't a substitute.

Absolutely people should audition every speaker they are interested in purchasing. How do you propose one should discern whether or not to spend the time and effort to demo those speakers though?
My thought was maybe listen to the former editor of audiophile magazine and currently the worlds largest audio youtuber, but I guess you've got a grudge against him, so whose advice would you take?
Or how about Danny at GR Research whose company makes modification kits to speakers and whose whole business revolves around upgrading high end speakers? https://youtu.be/Fwhbt4OwmpQ
Look I don't care whether you buy the speakers or not. As I said, this deal is for someone who is into audiophile vintage speakers. Every professional reviewer on youtube has echoed that same sentiment.

Don't go based on the reviewers from YouTube. Looks like company sent everyone a free set of these speakers. Looks like paid reviewers.

GR Research doesn't get sent speakers by companies. They are sent speakers by individual owners, they then dismantle them, critique them, then tell you they made a $500-$1000 kit to make them sound way better.
Also, if not youtubers whose review should I listen to?

Reviews just have to be taken with a grain of salt. A lot of those guys are into old music. They play eagles on a record and that's what they are listening to. If you're listening to EDM and you want that to sound like a club. You're going to be looking for something completely different than those people. The Klipsch heresy is another speaker in this category. In the right room, on vinyl, with a tube amp, they sound really good playing older music. They sound absolutely terrible with a capital T on solid state playing electronic dance. I've tried both with that speaker. There is no substitute for demoing a speaker in your own home with your own gear and your own music

Do you use subwoofers for all your speakers? 🤔

Ah, so you're just saying this speaker is a subwoofer?
