Team Group CX2 2.5" 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) for just $64.99 with free shipping at www.newegg.com [newegg.com]. I think this is a Memorial Day deal at newegg.com because this Team Group CX2 1TB SSD was selling for around $71.99 or more. This is the first time within the last 12 months that I have seen its price drop down to $64.99. Pretty good reviews too.

Good for as a game drive on pc?
it will be fine as a game drive, but it won't take advantage of directstorage.

I have two of these drives in external usb3 enclosures. I use them as external storage on my ps5 and xb series X. They work great for last Gen games

SSD's make noise???

They make no noise compared to spinning rust. Which is why I listed it as a benefit

Amazon also has this same drive for $64.99. If you have the Amazon 5% back credit card, then that brings it down even more.

$76.80 on Amazon. Wish they price matched because ya never know whether what ya receive from Newegg is gonna work when ya open the box. Last drive I ordered the put on too big of box and only put in 3 air packs, needless to say the drive staying in flight during shipment 🙄🤬

Actually on a quiet night you can plug one in and hold to your ear and hear the virtual ocean. 🤣

They have the AX2 for $64.99 not the CX2, different model:

From what I can tell, they appear to have similar performance. Is there some reason to prefer the CX2 to the AX2? This thread here concludes they are very similar: https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/t...cx2-vx-ex2

I'm thinking not staring at 2-3 minute long load times might be worth it though. I have a 2.5 year old - so every load screen is potentially child-aggro.

So nothing wrong with the stock drive - but I still am leaning towards jumping.

Anyone know what I need to do to clone my old drive?
Probably better to back up your saves on PS+ or USB, and start anew. Format your SSD appropriately and install the firmware from a USB stick

For most games yes. I wouldn't use it for games like cod where constant map loading just because will load slower then a nvme drive but even then most people wouldn't notice it much. I have multiple of these on different notebooks and definitely serving me very well.
