I just bought 2 of these last week from Amazon! I needed them for people staying at my house last weekend. I literally had a deal alert for months on these and had to finally pull the trigger.
Any suggestions on how to get Amazon to match price? I've never tried.

Regardless, it sounds like too much modification to make it work. Unfortunately, it is the only vertical window in our house (and in our bedroom which is ideal), but it is just too small. I guess I will look for a portable unit. Just as well as I'd rather order from Costco.
This happens if the ac unit is not level. Mine leaked but I adjusted the orientation to level it and it stopped.
Want to try out but not sure if the return will be easy.

Umm one issue, if you go back in time in the DeLorean I'm not sure the ac unit will fit in the car. Also you may buy the one I got then I would be out. You time travelers can be selfish sometimes and not think about the ripple of the space time continuum. BUT but if you can pm me about the deal before it's posted then I would be ok with that.
