Your math is correct, but just know that some Best Buy wouldn't know how to process the enhanced trade in value correctly. I suggest you bring a print out showing the $450 trade in value, but even then, there is no guarantee that you'll get it.

I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.

Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.

FYI, you only get these prices if you activate the phone on the big 4 carriers.

When you go in the store to trade in, many of them will have trouble with the trade in value. They'll offer you whatever low amount they would typically give. You'll need to correct them and tell them it's a promo. Show them the webpage on your phone on the BestBuy site (go to any S22 product page and there's a blue heading above the price, click that).

Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.

I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.

1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.

2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.

3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.

Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

When i tried to get $800 BB GC for my Z Flip3 (T-Mobile) that I bought last week and didn't even open the box - I was told I have to open it, use it for 60 days before I can trade it in.
Is it true or should i try another store/employee?

I see a lot of Galaxy S22 line deals lately. Does that mean these models are a flop for Samsung or they're performing less than expected in terms of how well they're selling? Seems like the line just came out and now they're discounted- or is this normal?
Compared to my s21 ultra it was mostly downgrade for me lower ram , memory and battery life.
I could get s22 for $74 according to samsung website

Is the s22U worth trading my s10+ for? I was looking at side by side specs and I don't see a significant difference other than the processing speed. I'm happy with my current s10+, but am I missing out on anything?

Wow,never again. I am literally still TRAUMATIZED from my samsung trade-in S22/S22+ trade in experience from March. They had a cracked screen trade in special, my phone had a very small crack. Month later my card was charged back a fee of like $420 marked as "trade in adjustment credit". Calling Samsung 3x and dealing with PayPal resolution has all been a waste of time. I sent in my tax exemption documents literally 4 times by email (when given incorrect instructions since apparently not all employees know it's a form submission online. Ignored first few times then given some BS excuse why they don't want to honor it). Since tax is charged on the entire cost of phone (not counting trade in credit, coupons, student discount etc...that's another $68+- I lost. I will be going in to Chase personally to dispute this as it was ran through paypal to my chase account but the whole situation was such a waste of my time and so disappointing. Not to mention they don't return trade ins so I lost my excellent note 10 plus 5g for wanting something "new and shiny" and the S22 ended up being bulky not ergonomic in your hand, slow, small, lagging etc etc plus charges slow and even if you purchase the 45w adapter that doesn't even come with it ,it still will not hold charge for 24hrs. The S22+ I tried next was basically same thing just an inch or whatever bigger.

Just thinking of the whole experience gives me hives. I would definitely recommend #1 do NOT trade in your phone until yoube played around with the device you want to get at best buy or somewhere in store. #2 don't get anything except for the ultra if you are set on the s22 series #3 if you are text exempt, go ahead and just walk in to your local best buy and they will match deal and process your tax exempt on the spot once they set up your exemption account..then you won't have to deal with their rude outsourced BS customer "diservice".

Sorry yall, hate to sound like a bitter whiner but if I can save even 1 person from the horrific experience I had it will all be wroth it.(Ok,now you can applaud my heroic tendencies).

That might not be appropriate. . .but you could accidently leave a Chick-Fil-A or Wendy's gift card etc. etc. on the counter low key when walking out. . .Preferably without them noticing at the time, but in a minute or two they will see it and put 2 and 2 together, if that was the intent. . .

But yeah, I get that move of dropping a gift card or ordering a couple of pizzas. . .but that is more feasible and less roadblocks when done at a TMO or VZW store, lol. But priceless sometimes lol

But this person I think was rather trying to leave feedback. And they already left the store anyways. I would mention your good previous experience with employee XXX with the person at the front door, many times an asst or MOD, and go from there . .might help them out more in the end than just filling out a form in store or online. . .
Yes,true. Especially at BB. For me,it's either absolutely sh$t service or really excellent service there. My online experiences have not been stellar. A crazy hectic time with a drone mobile start install last year too...but I definitely make sure to give credit where due for competent employees that go out of their way to listen and take care of an issue ,question or concern versus pawning off on "1800#"

S22U is basically a note, you lose the micro SD card slot, and the headphone jack but gain a pen, better screen refresh rate, higher brightness and...a better chip and the but that's it. The S10 series was a solid device line.

I traded in my S10 for $800 yesterday but it was for the Verizon version. Here's the link to that promo: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sams...4515081836
Yeah, I don't have a problem with bill credits deals (like some others do). . .but when on a thread that's discussing cash discounts upfront, from BB and unlocked version phones, would be nice to state from the beginning that you were talking about possibly a carrier version phone and bill credits, and different sales price (before the credits). . .

Some reps don't care if you take the phone for trade still in the box. . .but it rubs many more reps than not the wrong way. Maybe they see this as loss of commission for someone, or you just being an arse about doing such. Who knows. . .

Listen I was "escorted" towards the door by manager the other day just for mentioning trying to buy an S22 and trade in a ZF3, and it had been used. . .that response doesn't happen when people are civil about doing trade ins. That store probably had several people show up and do pickup/trade of ZF3 at Mobile counter, and then immediately say they wanted to trade them for S22U, or gift card, and then return the S22 to same store that day. . .

The way I see it is that if you can trade up to the latest and greatest for a couple hundred dollars it may be worth it since it will be worth more once you want to trade up to the new model release next year. I would only get the 256GB model though. (S21U 128GB = S22U 256GD)

That still didn't give them the right to be rude to customers and not doing their job. Thanks God that the rep at Bestbuy I traded my phones in is super nice. She did all my trades without asking any question.

I am upgrading from an S10. I wasn't in love with the S22 ultra (too big / boxy and i don't need the stylus). I opted for the S22+ instead. The first person at Best buy had no idea about the promo and insisted my trade in value was $100.

A second employee came over to help and we eventually got it to show the $800 rebate. I am not sure what will happen with the bill credits since the phone's price (256 gb version) was only $700. But i guess I'll wait and see.
Want to do the same, but don't get the same numbers.

S10 trade in value is $400, not $800.

i have a S21 FE 5G - which is annoying the hell out of me ... Samsung said they would take it for 575 trade in.... I can also buy a S21 5G for 200 next to new condition and trade that in... i was going to do that because of the excuse the FE is too new and inst on the lists yet....

Should i just buy the 2nd S21 5G and hold off until the next release....then trade them both in?
i really wanted the S22 512 Ultra... but i guess i could wait...
