Your math is correct, but just know that some Best Buy wouldn't know how to process the enhanced trade in value correctly. I suggest you bring a print out showing the $450 trade in value, but even then, there is no guarantee that you'll get it.

I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.

Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.

FYI, you only get these prices if you activate the phone on the big 4 carriers.

When you go in the store to trade in, many of them will have trouble with the trade in value. They'll offer you whatever low amount they would typically give. You'll need to correct them and tell them it's a promo. Show them the webpage on your phone on the BestBuy site (go to any S22 product page and there's a blue heading above the price, click that).

Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.

I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.

1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.

2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.

3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.

Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

I am looking to upgrade my mom's phone, she's on a Galaxy S9+ and T-mobile postpaid, I was looking at a Galaxy A53 for $349 but this deal might be better. I have a spare Galaxy S8 that is in perfect condition that I don't use. If I take her to BestBuy, get the Galaxy S21 FE for $499 and trade in the Galaxy S8 it will be $299 before taxes? I was wondering what the $499 (with activation today) and $699 prices (activation later) are for the Galaxy S21 FE? Is it my mom has to extend her contract with T-mobile at the time of purchase?

So I just replicated this deal in Novi, MI. The techs there know EXACTLY how to do this. When I entered, another SD'er was there doing the same.

The only issue I'm having now is activating my sim because I had an esim previously.

can somebody post how to tell BB cs to get the $800 GC promo? I went today and the rep is clueless and she kept running around telling me about mothly credits and needs to be acivated. I got frustrated with her and walk out. She was trying to go to my T-Mob and do the upgrade and wasn't able to get the $899 price. I kept asking her that I don't need to upgrade or activate if she couldn't do it, just give me the GC and I can go home and order, at first she said BB don't take this type of phone, I've show her the site, then she said it's only showing $200.... incompetent CS

899 with activation is what my local BB must have missed.

They were giving my $400 trade in on the $1,299 price.

That made it 900 plus tax, so 1k and change.

Its $499 if she's just doing an upgrade on her line.

Yes, I signed up for a new line with T-mobile, and canceling once the phone arrives. It should be here tomorrow, so I will know how difficult it is to cancel. They may or may not make me pay a prorated 3 or 4 days for service even though I haven't gotten the device yet, but no big deal if I have to pay for a few days of service.
I was wondering about cancelling. I have a Note 20 Ultra on Spectrum Mobile. Can I trade it in, sign up for a new TMobile account and then just cancel the new account after a few days?

This happened to me. First rep didn't know anything about the trade in promo even though it's on their site. She was either uninterested or didn't know how to do this kind of trade in. I had to show her the page. Then a second rep came and "coached" her through the beginning steps. She just ended up taking over because the first rep was clueless as to what to do. Second had to be constantly reminded that I was supposed to be getting an $800 gift card. I even had to remind her as well as the another rep to include the SAMSUNG promo code for it. Was finally I able to get it done after a third rep helped her.
They couldn't order the phones with the gift cards because their system wasn't showing what's currently on their web page which is the $899 for the 256gb Unlocked S22 Ultra.
So I guess I'll be going back today.
I asked if I could order online but they told me their system wasn't letting them purchase the phone at that price but that I could try. They did let me walk out with the gift cards though. Took my trade ins and packed them up for shipping.

Anyone had any luck ordering the phones with the gift cards yourselves?

Another person who cannot follow instructions.

The in store trade in value of the s21+ is 600. S22u 256gb is 899 with activation (799 with a new line on tmobile or att).
Its ok, most of the comments in this thread are from people that don't know how to read, or don't at least TRY to read. They go in, half assed, and then cant figure out how to do the deal.

This has been explained by myself and others a million times already. Can people read the OP please? Or the stickied content.

BB is notorious for not being able to get any of their phone promos done right, trying to find a competent CS at BB is few and far between.

S21 FE is a very capable device. If your local Best Buy associate knows how to apply the promotion to trade in, you'd be out the door with the upgrade. T-mobile did away with contracts so you won't be extending any.
