Once you've redeemed Gold (three years worth for the best bang for your buck), then you sign up for GPU, which should be $1 if it's your first time and possibly $15 if it's not your first time, then all of your Xbox Live Gold Subscription will just transform into a Game Pass Ultimate subscription for the same length of time

Just purchased a total of three years of Xbox Live Gold (3 months x 4, three times) for around $80 and then the $15 to upgrade to GPU since I had already used the $1 offer previously. Worked well here as a US customer.

Was able to buy 9 in 1 go at eneba for $57.

Added, turned on recurring, turned off recurring, repeat until I got 36 months. Converted to GPU for $14.99.

$71.99 for 3 years is amazing.

Your decision is this:

Wait until you are expired and get 120 days worth of GPU for around $7 or $8, but you will have to pay the $15 to join GPU again.

Or don't wait and get 50 days worth of GPU for the same $ added to your already active GPU.

You are allowed to choose either. The best bang for your buck is to expire, stack 3 years and then convert to GPU. 3 years for under $75.

Buy a set of THREE (3) month cards. Go to MS and add them in. After you add each one, make sure you accept reoccuring billing and go in your account and remove it before adding the next card. By doing it that way, you'll get 12 months for every THREE cards.

The OP didn't really spell this out and I screwed mine up til the last set.

I just saw this recent post on a Microsoft page while searching for the link to redeem codes on browser. I know that the post specifically mentions the 3 month PC codes being converted to GPU, but I'm starting to wonder if Gold conversions are next.

I understand that the trick came later. This thread is still very active at over 300 comments so I don't think it would be too much to edit the OP to include this info. Especially since we obviously have folks still asking about the reoccurring billing.
