How does this compare to the HP U32 4K monitor for $415?

Anyone got both 😀
Pretty sure it's the same panel in this monitor as the HP U28. This doesn't have USB and the stand is less adjustable, but doesn't matter if you're planning to use a mount/arm.

4K native at 28" is exactly the sweet spot. I have 4K @ 32" also but prefer 28".

Some might get annoyed by it, but if you know why you need the highest resolution at the smallest tolerable size, it'll grow on you and you'll love it.

I bought a pair of these last year during a similar sale. One of the panels was really good, the other had terrible light bleed. So I couldn't get them to look even close to matched. So I bought a third one to replace the bad one, but it wasn't noticeably better. I ended up returning all 3. So my advice is to examine for light bleed first.

I don't have great eyesight so I ran these at 4k 200% scaling and it looked great (on the good one).

Note: the vesa mount can be problematic depending on what kind of mount you use.

4K at this size means you're going to have a 1080p image at 28". Too small of a screen to read it at native res and kind of ridiculous to have an effective 1080p monitor at this size. 5k at 27" replicating a 1440p is the sweet spot.
Pretty sure 4K at 28" means getting a 4K image at 28". I've used a 28" 4K monitor for like 5 years with no scaling. Not everyone has poor vision.

Only 1000:1 contrast ratio. That's not very good.

Correct me if I am wrong. I think this monitor will have some vesa mounting issue, if you look at the mounting holes they are very close to the top unlike mounting holes on most monitors that is at the center. Look for dual stand with individual arms when using a dual monitor setup.
