Great price but I am not a fan of this flavor/roast. I like the crema ones a lot better. But if this flavor speaks to you, price is worth it.

i've blended these (lavazza) beans with starbucks french roast beans in 50-50 ratio to resolve the issue you mention with good results for espresso.

I bought this last time it was on sale. It was close to the expiration date and the coffee flavor was terrible.

Me 2.
Haven't seen "crema ones" on good sale for a while already.
Used to be few sales in spring prev. years...
The cheapest scenario was the 6 pack which still ended up at $14 or so

Not seeing the additional 15%. Think it's YMMV or they removed it.

I think this is decent coffee for the price. Good for if you don't want to blow all your expensive fancy beans making cold brew.

I have tried many of the "cheaper" and on sale coffees own SD. I used to drink this as my regular, and on a really good sale I will still get it. I have a Mock Master coffee maker and Encore Burr grinder (both amazing and Encore has unreal customer service"

ANYWAYS- TLDR- Get a good grinder and this is my favorite for value/taste. Eight o'clock Colombian peaks is the best but the original and any Colombian are very good. Target at around $0.29-$0.35 per OZ when on sale of 15% S AND S

Lavazza coffee isn't great. Cheap, yes. But not good at all. Bought once, never again.

Espresso is very sensitive to extraction, darker roasts basically burn off so much of the flavors that there aren't any bitter or sour flavors left. Easier to make a decent espresso out of, but not as good. Lighter roasts generally have more character in flavors but the lighter they are the harder it is to avoid the bad flavors (bitter and sour). So it depends on how much money you want to spend on equipment and how hard you want to work for it. It's honestly a very diminishing returns situation, to get slightly better espresso and flavor starts off at hundreds of dollars and quickly scales into thousands. It's a bit of an addictive hobby chasing those really tasty espresso shots though.

My equipment is an aeropress, so there's that.

I thought espresso was pretty much always a dark roast?
Cheap espresso, yes. They dark roast it to get more flavor out of crappy beans, but good beans will give a much better drink if medium ("city: or "full city") roasted. Some pure espresso drinkers like to use light roasted coffee but I personally don't like that style. Needless to say, Charbucks uses dark roasts for most of its espresso drinks.

Most likely he sounds to be a Nescafé or perhaps maxwells.

i got rocks twice in Crema E Aroma in my last bag. Thankfully they didn't break the grinder but freaked me out. I stopped buying it after than. You could hear the screeching sound as the rocks were going through.
Ah, there you are! What kept you? You are slow today.

Yep. And by roasting the life out of them until they're basically just a husk of charcoal and oil they can source beans from anywhere and still have their dark roast always taste the same.. burnt. Haha. Starbucks is like the frozen white castle burgers of the coffee world... It's technically edible, especially if you put better tasting stuff in it to cover up how bad it is..

I now have to derock the beans on an old album cover. I learned that trick doing something else back in college.
A pain in the rearend, but good coffee with great, thick crema.

Hmmmm fresh fresh roasted beans for $19/2lbs or these. Might not be bad for budgets sake

My favorite 3: Peet's, Peet's, Peet's. Ha. Fun aside, since I'm close to Emeryville, the coffee we can buy is usually within a few days of roasting.
