That doesn't work with a certificate, those work when you use your points.

Damn, I got this card last month when the offer was 3 free nights.
Is it possible to change the promo on my card to this new one?

I applied this card before the pandemic and got a promotional offer not as good as this current one. No travel during the first year of pandemic but they did not waive the annual fee for me. So I cannceled it in 2020. Will I get this bonus again if I reapply if following the chase 24/5 rule?

Not worth as much as 250k points but I found the 12 months to use 5 separate 50k nights limiting so went for the concurrent $250 eGiftCard promo happening right now.

Get a Marriott Bonvoy® $250 eGiftCard
Delivered to your email upon approval.
Plus Earn 50,000Bonus Points
After you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first three months from account opening.

I have never had any issues using thier free nights certs. In fact my last 3 years worth of free nights were extended due to the Pandemic and I was able to use them over this weekend consecutively.

Marriot jacked up all their point redemption rates which really sucks so the 50 K nights are useful if you're booking at the right place at the right time but it is worth less than it previously was for sure. The only saving grace in my opinion right now with these 50 K free nights is the ability to tack on 15 K max per night out of your coin stash to stay at a location that is over 50 K. I have noticed a lot of locations that I'm looking to book will put point redemption values slightly higher than 35K 40 K or 50 K which are generally what you get as your FNA values based on if you have a credit card that is Marriott branded. I was recently trying to book a trip to Vegas and stay at the cosmopolitan but the redemption rates were 71K or higher even in the 90 K range for a single night which is ridiculous. So even with 50 K on a night, I still couldn't book a night at the cosmopolitan because the max Marriott will allow me to redeem extra is 15 K points for a total of 65K. Don't get me wrong this can be a great deal but do your homework To plan out your redemption nights before jumping into it especially if you don't have a stash of extra Marriott points already.

marriott point system devalued so much that it's very hard to use on a decent hotel on the good time... so sad!
