The dining bonus is a $10 credit per month when the card is used at any of the eligible establishments, and if it's not used, there would not be any credit obviously. Does the Uber credit work the same way (I.e., spend first get a statement credit)?

No, it's not statement credits. You add your Gold card to your Uber account, Uber directly adds $10 to your Uber Cash balance on the last day of each month. It'll list the expiration date for that portion of the balance in your Uber account.

I've had many, many credit cards over the years (for bonus purposes), but only 1 amex. I HATED it. So many places i use refused it. Very frustrating, especially when trying to meet the minimum spend. Granted, you have 6 months on this one.

Horrible advice. Amex is known to take away the bonus if you cancel before the first year. Wait for the second annual fee to hit your account then you have 30 days to cancel. You still don't end up paying the second fee but you don't piss Amex off.

What if you have the platinum as well? Do the credits stack, making it $25 a month?
