I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

yes, this is a huge concern given the various posts. one person commented it is only the first month @ 8GB, but I'm worried to trust that and don't feel like haggling with customer support over it... that's draining and a waste of time. even if only the first month is at 8GB, that's still not right.

Very lame speedwise, I live in DFW area, if you are OK with the slow speed then go for it. It's a good price.

In the past ~6 months ATT prepaid has gone from great to slow as dirt. I'm lucky to get a website to load in under a minute when in a busy area these days. I think they lowered the priority or something, it used to be much better.

Afraid what ATT will charge after the year is up.. can't find an answer
I have been using the plan since it originated some 3 years ago. Same price every year. It is prepaid so if they changed it at the end of the term, then you can always move to another plan. No provider promises the same charge forever more so at the EOY you will need to make that determination. I wouldn't worry its nice because you only need to source prepaid cards once a year and I usually accumulate them 2-3 months before the 360 days are up. Yes it's 360 days.

It's probably similar to the Walmart plan which had the bonus and it would take a month for it to kick in. Just a guess but that is how it worked there. Please revert back.

Can I convert AT&T postpaid to AT&T prepaid? Is it a easy process?
Maybe but not this one. It's only for new activations and Cricket is locked out also (at least it used to be).

So what is the TOTAL price for this? Def not $300 otd!

"Taxes and fees extra. Excludes upgrades. Other fees, charges & restr's apply. "
Came out to $330.96 in Illinois. I didn't want to risk anything by buying gift cards.

Annoying, I have a oneplus 7t (1907) that doesn't seem to work on the att network.
Here is a list of supported phones: https://www.att.com/idpassets/ima...etwork.pdf

ATT has the worst support bar none (maybe Cricket which is ATT a tad worse).

International versions and some TMO versions like yours need not apply and even if it is most likely no wifi calling or 5G. I did have a 1907 which I bought from B&H but they flashed the international firmware on it and it worked. But my strong suggestion is if you want AT&T stick to Apple, Pixel, Samsung, or what they sell directly. Some Motorola but YMMV

seems so sloppy for them not to be clear about this. and lazy (if not illegal?) to not implement it correctly for the first month too.

Guess I'll have to stick with my current $300/8GB deal unless I want to go through the hassle of porting.
Try Mint Mobile...10g for $220 for a year

When starting out they always require the first year be paid via a credit card. After that you can use gift cards.
NOT true, you can start with gift card immediately, i just did, here are the steps:

• Used a "Generated Card" Number from my bank (citibank) when ordering the SIM card.
You can also use a gift card with balance less than $300 - it will bounce the $300+tax and fees charge anyway. NEED TO HAVE ATLEAST $1

• You dont get Charged ANYTHING untill you pop the SIM into the phone.

• Cancelled the "Generated Card" immediately after the order went thru.

• Received the SIM card about a day later in the mail, and put it in the Phone, went online at:
https://www.paygonline.com/websc/loginPage.html
Make a new AT&T prepaid account (Mobile Number is already provided in the envelope slip when you receive your SIM card in the mail)
You will be sent a temporarely PIN to that new AT&T number via SMS.

• After the account is created you will see balance due $300 as you havent been charged for anything yet, and pressung the "Pay Now" button will present you with option to pay with either a Credit/Debit Card or enter a Code from a Prepaid Card..

• Go to Target and buy your prepaid card here:
https://www.target.com/p/prepaid-...A-82498449
Should arrive within 2-4hrs into your email box.
NOTE Target Prepaid Phone Cards offten go on sale for 10% off, so you could get the $300 card for $270 and if you have Red Card aditional 5% off so your total year plan could cost $256.50 which ends up been $21.37 a month 😎

Kroger also have sales on Prepaid Phone Cards about every month for 10% - 15% off but they charge 911 fee ($24 in my case in California) here:
https://giftcards.kroger.com/deal...livery-302

• Activate your plan.

• Optionaly after all that is done, call customer service to port your number and replace the one the SIM card came with.

I'm in a similar situation as you and am hoping this does not require porting out and back in especially since two of the four lines we have are for kids living away from home. Even if they weren't, we could lose cell service for a day or two.

For those on this plan, is WiFi Calling supported? HD Voice aka VoLTE? Visual Voicemail for iPhones?

Sadly, T-Mobile has the worst coverage in my state and local area.
