I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

It should get marked down to $50 with autopay, but if not then yeah $65
it is definitely 50 after 15 autopay discount

Couple of points if you are moving to the max plan as a current att prepaid user I recommend you switch 3 days before your posted renewal date on paygonline

If you do it earlier you are paying for service twice as your current plan gets reset and will ask immediately for payment to get service for the switch to max.

Also, the autopay discount gets applied at renewal so you will be charged 65- prorated days left to your renewal.

That's how prepaid works…

order a sim with this new plan as a new customer

when you get the new sim activate it with a new number same market as old number

port your old number to tmobile

same day call 1888 port activations and port that newly ported tmobile number onto new number
I didn't knew this was possible. Porting a different number(old number)frmo Tmobile to the new number(in the AT&T). what actually happens in this case. Does the old number gets merged with new number and you still get to keep the old number?

full 16 GB can be used as hotspot. It counts towards your data.

That's exactly what happens. It is a law that providers must allow porting your number out.

So the tmobile step saves a lot of issues

And could happen same day

1888 port activations number is the best place to get your number ported

Again any att MVNO especially cricket you will have to have an intermediate step to move your cricket number to tmobile then to att prepaid

AT&T is an absolutely vile company. There are better options out there.
Which company isn't vile?

He can't because there are only 3 big carriers. The Big 3 U.S. wireless carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile (Sprint) and Verizon

Everyone else lease off these 3 carriers networks/towers.
What about US Cellular?

Can anyone comment on the video quality difference HD/SD. This plan seems to only support SD but how does that work even? Currently on a grandfathered plan of $40/mo after $10 autopay discount but has HD video.

US Cellular is one of the exceptions. If still true I believe they have some of their own towers but only in certain areas. Reviews for them are great online. Not sure how their traffic is handled when coming off one the big 4 carriers (i.e QCI).

So when you port a number to ATT its not like automatic/done online (as long as you have all the info from the carrier you are moving on from) ??? You always have to call ??? That seems odd? I mean I always thought the pain was calling and getting the info from the old carrier. I have never heard of the new carrier making it hard ?

Did you do a purchase/port in the same order? (Did you ask to keep your number when you ordered the sim online)

The issue is ordering the sim and asking to keep your number. Best to do it in 2 steps. Ask for a new new number and when you call in with information from previous carrier just port by calling 1888 number

I had the same issue porting a number from Tello to AT&T. After days of struggling and several attempted orders, what worked for me was to enter a bogus Tello account number and PIN, finish the order, and AT&T will e-mail you the next day saying that the account number does not match my number according to provider records and will give you a link to fix the account number. Click on the link and enter the correct account number and pin and it worked that time. Just my small contribution after struggling for days ... hope it helps someone.
