I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

Glad you were able to save how much? The in store activation? In store I thought it was 10 for the sim and 10 for the activation per line.
I live out in the sticks a bit, so it was worth it to me to have everything shipped & me be able to do it all from my couch, versus having to drive into town to a store. The t-mobile sim cards were $22 each ($10 prepay & $10 for the sim card kit, then probably a couple bucks in taxes/fees) shipped to me next day air.

That's great! 22 each and your patience setting it up but that's the way to do it!

New numbers and porting!

I think this was covered here, but I can't find it now. Can anyone confirm that you can use 6 prepaid cards to pay the $300? I'm tempted to buy 6 of the $50 in three transactions to get the extra Target Circle Bonus, but don't want that to backfire if there is a limit to how many you can use when paying the $300.

I used 6x $50 last month due to buying from $5 off $50 sale

You can do 2x $100 and 2x $50 since its BOGO if you just need 2 transactions for bonus otherwise 3 transactions are fine -- might have to spread them out if order gets canceled for too many

Other than the discount from the prefill card purchase, is there any additional savings like on taxes?
If you use the prefill cards to fund your plan you will not be charged any taxes.

Any specific reason to use T-mobile as the in between if your NOT going to do it in store, why not just get a $1 Tracfone Verizon Sim and activate on their cheapest.

Thanks, unfortunately i don't have the second line of 8gb of data.

Feeling pretty bummed about this now.
I'm in the same situation, I did not get the 16GB only 8GB,as other's have said probably should have gone the route of getting a new number first but I trusted the steps outlined by AT&T and that the sign up transfer would be an easy process. Good luck getting it sorted out, I've had 6-7 long phone calls with them now to try to get this corrected with no luck. I've kind of given up, or rather taking a little breather and than will probably try some more calls. The last call I had with them I was promised a call back from a supervisor, that never happened.

Doesn't matter as long as its TMo or VZ based -- need to get off ATT network

Got off the phone with 888 port request and found out that I need a new SIM in order to transfer my number from Red Pocket (GSMA) Frown. AT&T agent said I can go to store to get a new SIM (free but I am not going to hold that against her). I happen to have Mint mobile SIM around so I just ported it out to Mint mobile for now since the RP line expires tomorrow.

Did you order the initial SIM with the keep my old number option?

Yes -- as long as the phone model is still compatible/approved:

Here's a quick rundown of my experience...
Thanks for this. I'm about to do the same thing: port two numbers from a legacy AT&T post-paid plan to prepaid.

When you set up your prepaid online account(s), did you have to create a separate account for each phone/SIM? Or can you manage both from the same online account?

This is a especially nice plan if traveling in Mexico (Canada too) as I used Att (Cricket) in Puerto Vallarta this past March and I had full bars of 4G LTE everywhere in the whole area including Sayulita, San Pancho, Punta de Mita, and south of PV too. Internet was as fast there as with a strong signal in US. If in Mx and people want to call you, there is no prefix to dial and same for calling people in the US while there. Btw, I used my Cricket branded iPhone SE 2020 and my Pixel 3 and both worked flawlessly.
