Taking out the battery is not difficult, it is just one screw and the casing slides right off.
I have two batteries for the thing so I always keep one charged. Takes me less than 3-mins to swap them. Also, I don't get much front door activity so I only need to change out the battery once a month or so.

If anyone knows the best DIY system that no one can charge you a fee for once you get it set up, and it calls your phone number directly instead of emergency numbers, tell me. want to escape all monthly fees. Surely, surely there's hardware that can do this.

If not maybe i should learn some stuff and make a raspberry pi system that will place a call to myself when triggered....

Will this work with one of those tablets configured with software to run home automation devices? I don't know the name of the software, but I'd like to have a display where I can control, monitor, and view the Ring devices as well as my other HA devices. Thanks.
