This is an outdated model that will lose professional monitoring after a while. You will need the alarm pro base station in order to have professional monitoring...which had a 100% price increase last year. Ring is going the way of traditional home security companies after Amazon's acquisition.

Ring requires a minimum $4/mo subscription for new users just to use WiFi and smart home automation. Writing is on the wall for current users too so it's just a matter of time before they charge existing users for non-professional/self-monitoring.

Behind the literal doubled subscription cost for their professional and non-professional monitoring, I cannot recommend Ring to anyone. These units just act like subscription Trojan horses for your home or office.
