With that being the case...when I feel like getting a coffee (not very frequently), I tend to just grab one from Starbucks. The Dunkin's I have had have all been way worse than anything I have had from Starbucks. Neither was anywhere near as good as the coffees I have had from Baltimore Coffee & Tea Co. though (both regular coffees and espresso-based drinks).
Remember, the best cup of coffee you can drink is one that consistently tastes the same. Spend a little time working out the kinks in the beginning and once you have it right (grind size, consistent water temp, bean selection etc), you can save your settings and get that same delicious cup every morning.
If that coffee is $5 a day thats $30 a week (lets take one day a week off) thats $6240 in a year.
Shit really adds up, i make $80k a year and no way in hell am i waiting in line (there is ALWAYS a line for SB in my area) to pay a premium for SB coffee.
To you its great. To me its sub-par. Dunkin and McDonalds tastes better IMO at a much lower price (for McDonalds anyways). I guess i just don't have a sophisticated SB palate
$5 a day at 6 days a week = $30 a week
$30 a week at 52 weeks = $1,560 year
Don't forget you are already buying coffee elsewhere. Your loss isn't the $1,560 a year but the difference in cost for 6 days a week worth of coffee you are buying elsewhere.
Compared to a McDonald's latte
$3.4 a day at 6 days a week = $20.40
$20.40 a week for 52 weeks = $1,060.8
You spend ~$499.20 more a year going to Starbucks over McDonald's. I believe you get a few more oz a cup from McDonald's but even if you factor that in, that's a long ways from the $6,240 a year you mentioned.
You don't have to be "rich" or have a "sophisticated palate" to drink Starbucks. Idk why people make buying Starbucks a rich vs poor or sophisticated vs less sophisticated thing. It's coffee, buy what you like.

Just get the stuff at McDonald's. A quarter of the price and less likely to get stale coffee.
