The 3070 is about 50% faster than the 3060 not 20%. You are thinking of the 3060ti.
The 3070 mobile GPU is only about 19% faster than the 3060 mobile : https://www.videocardbenchmark.ne...4342vs4331

It's a difference, but it's not that large.

The closest competitor to this deal is probably the Walmart deal with the 2021 model with the RTX 3070. With this deal, you're saving $200 and giving up about 20% in gaming FPS, but gaining the updated CPU (~7-10% gains), DDR5 RAM (admittedly not that impactful now), more powerful USB-C charging, and Gen 4 SSD capability.

For casual gamers and maybe those who mainly do productivity tasks, I think that's a fair trade for $200. It's certainly better than the base 2021 Legion 5 deal for $1140 that was Frontpage, since the storage difference is only worth about $100.
You don't get more powerful USB C charging mate. The older 5 pro's have the bios updates that allow 125w USB c

USB 4 is a new interface that shares the same form factor as its predecessor, it cannot be delivered through an update. Although it is near identical to thunderbolt. As for the weight I'm not sure.

This is a good deal for a well-balanced system. Nice to see QHD at this price. That being said, I run a 3070 mobile high watt at 1440p right now, and I would notice the 20% drop in frames. With a 60fps target it means dropping the quality one notch, or using more aggressive DLSS where applicable.

For a sub $1200 gaming laptop though, this is really excellent.

Any experts chime in on if this is a good deal? Disappointing the GPU is worse than last year's model. And same 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD which has been same in the laptop industry for like 5 years now. Is the 6800 significantly better than 5800 from last year?
It's not worse than 2021, it's a different model, there was a 3060 model in 2021. This one is 10W higher than last year's.

The 3070 model is only about 15-20% faster in graphics. 140W is a high powered 3060.

Notebookcheck has a review of last years model with the 3070.
Appears to have the same panel which reviewed at just over 500nits.
Might have to buy this…

Does this definitely support charging over usb c? I can't find confirmation.
I know it says PD but I assumed that means it can charge other devices? Thanks in advance,
