I witnessed it firsthand a couple years ago. Got a no-name China made wireless charger pad off Amazon. The thing started melting after a week. It's not worth risking a house fire to save 20 bucks over a good brand name unit
Edit: I've only successfully bought one power strip deal that's been posted on SD. There must be some weirdos who just buy the maximum of these every time they're posted. Idk. It's wild.
