More like Nutella than pretzel. They're a bit like very thin breadsticks that can break and are easy to chew.

They're a good little snack for kids, but it takes several packs to equal the same amount that comes in a regular box. We got the Strawberry Cream last time and there were just 7 sticks in each package, whereas I think there are about 20 to a box.

While C&C is not bad, the chocolate is way better. Which is probably why there is more in the C&C package, for less money.

Is the cookie part like the Nutella dipper sticks, or are they harder, like a pretzel?

Thanks OP! Cookies and cream even cheaper for me. EDIT: sorry didn't see others already posted. personally for me these are so light in texture that all flavors pretty much taste the same to me. great snack and fun for kids that are not familiar with Asian snacks.

I ordered 4, got an additional 5%, plus the S&S, plus "$10 Prime Savings" and it ended up being $1.85 for four packages. YMMV.

Last time I ordered these, they came by themselves in their plastic mailer even though I had more S&S items. They came all broken to bits.

Or, if you put a positive spin on it, you were the first person on Earth to sample Pocky cereal.

When did "Asian" snacks become more mainstream? 10-15 plus yrs ago it would be rare to see non Asians having boba, rice crackers, pocky sticks, hello panda cookies, etc. These were mainly bought at local Asian grocery stores at the time. Same with Mitchell's or magnolia ice cream with mango, ube coconut flavors. I think with TikTok, youtube mukbangs more people have been exposed to other cultures foods and snacks, that's probably part of it.

Yup.

Boba started getting REALLY popular in the late 99s/2000 in larger college towns and cities, by 2005 pockys, mango flavors were common in the larger cities. Middle America caught on some time afterwards. The really weird/unusual flavor fixation hit mainstream America with the rise in YouTube and other video sharing sites (travel/dining shows have always been somewhat popular in the US. The advent of smart phones and video sharing services just made it a lot easier to share that sort of stuff for the average person.)
