I tested three, inexpensive, soundbars and picked this one for my bedroom. We may have different listening preference though as I'm content on subwoofer set to -6. I do agree that center channel could use a boost (which is available on A650 which is A60 is a cut-down version of, they even share firmware).

It's surprising that this bar lacks AUX so there's no way to hook up your smart speaker to it.

Anyone else receive their Samsung soundbar from this thread and can comment on the audio quality? I'm a little concerned about the number of people saying that it's about the same as TV speakers. I'm giving my parents my old 4k Sceptre TV and they've been using the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1's for a while and I bought this soundbar in the hope that it would be at least as good as that setup for them (the Klipsch doesn't work great with the Sceptre TV), but now I'm wondering if I should try to find another solution.

You have a very specific use case- your parents wants to use it. I am assuming they care more about the bar vs. the sub. The only positive in this setup is the sub. Soundbar on its own is definitely not a step up(as much as your expect) from the TV speakers (unless they are poor). Another thing that I noticed, again take it with grain of salt. I felt sound of the bar(excluding the sub) was better on Prime Video vs. Netflix.

edit to add: the best thing about this whole setup was/is the connectivity. It was breeze and I have faced no issue what so ever. Used Arc for tv(works like a charm), Bluetooth via Alexa and phone.

Exactly my experience. Center channel for "better dialogue" is BS!! Its soft, I'm constantly changing the volume. Having surround speaker adds to the situation.

To hear dialogue better change EQ by doing the following:
press and hold settings (gear) button on the remote until 150 is displayed on the bar
press up on the remote to +3 or +6
press right until 300 is displayed on the bar
press up on the remote to +3

Looking at many Samsung soundbars at the lower end price range, Samsung's quality (features, durability) doesn't seem to be that good. As one popular media technology reviewer said, Samsung makes excellent high-end products, but its lower end products are average at best and rely more on its reputation at the high end.

Also, soundbar manufacturers that keep models around (instead of announcing new replacement models every 12-18 months) seem to be more predictable. Problems and dissatisfaction with outgoing models just get buried.

Of course, everyone should be sure that the quality issues aren't related to their original source media or cables.

For $99 this is very good, compared to my sonos beam - not as much of a range or depth but definitely much better then tv speakers - mid grade soundbar but pretty solid imo - people saying these sound like tv speakers are living in la la land

The guy saying that this isn't much better than his Tcl roku tv is in dream land, it's miles better then Tcl 6 series speakers

i'm liking the sound bar so far, but noticed i can't get dobly vision to go through the hdmi port when connected to my apple tv, only hdr10. so i have to connect it directly to the tv but then lose the quick turn on, it has to detect the soundbar which takes a few seconds which is annoying. let me know if there's a fix

I do like that A60M in pass-through configuration Firestick will not stop playing music when TV is off which is quite nice. Many bars need HDMI splitter workaround to achieve that.

I'm returning mine. Spent 4 hours trying to get it to work with my old 2015 Vizio m series and also my old 2011 Samsung 8000d series. I disable cec. I didn't multiple things just not playing nice. I can get it to play optical but not hdmi even with the arc setup. Set up should be simple. My old Samsung 2013 hw-f450 2:1 to be honest still sounds better than this current Samsung.

I have Sonos arc on my more recent 2020 and 2021 Sony tv.

So was looking for some basic sound bar for my other tv. So will look for another sale

I tried this and the dialogue still gets drowned out by the special effects/bass of explosions, etc. Do I need to update my firmware first or am I doing something wrong?
