Purchased this a month ago for $149 and now it's down to $99. I'm very happy with it and got a second.

After I did this and was watching a movie everything seemed good.......and then the booming and music started as previously. I think all this did was raise the mid and high frequencies as per an equalizer.

Part of me is wondering if this wont be a problem with all sound bars. What we need is an option to lower the surround sound (end speakers) volume and raise the volume of the center channel speaker.

I've read that this is a common issue with most budget 3.1 soundbar systems. If I can find a 3.1 bar that has a center channel that actual works as intended for somewhere around the $250 range, I'd be willing to pay a bit more.

Make sure that your audio source is >5.1 channel. 2ch audio will not take advantage of middle speaker. My firestick sometimes sends 2ch audio instead of 5.1 (when audio is set to auto) and it's makes quite noticeable difference in voice quality.

I've adjusted the equalizer and it doesn't really help much. The files I play are 5.1 or higher.

Thanks, I have an LG C1 hooked up to this Samsung soundbar via Opitical out so I don't know if it's 5.1 or not

in case anyone revisits this thread I did some digging and this soundbar does have a firmware update on the Samsung site for it. Version 1004.2
