These are the good Red Plus CMR drives!

Regular WD reds are SMR and kinda suck.

Wow, I've been eyeing 2TB for $50 each but for 4TB for a little more... very tempting.

No, it won't. This is a 3.5 drive. I believe the t460s only takes nvme/m2

If I have a 2 bay NAS, then I would need 2 of these? Right? Means 2 of either 2TB/4TB/6TB? Sorry, new to NAS... Bounce

Yes. You can probably start with 1 but I would run them as a mirror for redundancy in a 2 bay unit.

Better for servers, you'd be better off with Purple drives for cameras as they're meant for constant reads and writes as opposed to Red which is more about reads.

If I have a 4 bay NAS can I get 2 now then get 2 later to set up in RAID1?

I took home a 4 bay Netgear ReadyNAS that we were no longer using from work that has 4x 1TB drives but one of them is bad.
