How long ago was this? I've seen almost nothing but bad news about them for the past year or so.
^ This is more like what I've been seeing.
For some context, I bought a death adder v2 back in 2019 and it started having problems with the buttons and wheel within months. Tried to reach out to support for warranty and they just kept giving me workarounds until my warranty expired and the mouse became unusable. Note that prior to the death adder i was using another Razer mouse that i bought as a refurb off woot back in 2010 and it worked very well until it finally gave out in 2019. Razer made solid gear before but their products have become super crappy in the past few years.

Again, these are the kind of things I've been seeing lately, $15 is a low risk investment if it breaks, but if you're spending $100+ on one of their keyboards or heaven forbid much more on a laptop, don't expect there to be any service after the sale.
I'd hope so, but if you have a problem within the warranty period, just throw it out, don't expect to get it taken care of. I've seen some horror stories about Razer's customer service, not a company I'm interested in supporting.
I had a decent warranty experience last year with a Viper Mini. After just under a year, the wheel was failing to middle-click every few times. I provided them a screen-recording of the issue with audio of my clicks, and the RMA went smoothly. They were emailing me shipping updates twice a day for a bit there, so maybe a little too enthusiastic, haha.
The replacement was fine for another half-year, but I think it's starting to scroll backward every so often, so I jumped on the $7.50 HP mouse from a couple weeks ago. In theory I could probably RMA the Razer again, but ehhh. The issue is infrequent enough to be hard to record, but just frequent enough to be annoying. Maybe if it gets worse.
Have you seen all Logitech mice with double clicks? They are just as bad 😞
At least Logitech doesn't give you a ration of crap when you have to do a warranty replacement. Mine was smooth sailing back in March, even kept my old one, considering getting some Kailh switches for it. It's wireless so there was no cord to cut and show them.

Glad you had a decent experience with the RMA, but it sounds like their QC is trash.
