Don't do it. I had the PRO for 2 weeks. I have always been a Samsung guy but I have been wanting to move away.

This is probably be the last time I'll try Google phones. Here's what I learned for that 2 weeks:

* Yes, it's clean. Not bloat ware.
* Yes, it has great camera.

But that's it.
* Its slow. Really slow. Slower than most.
* Shockingly, the fingerprint was okay (there were issues at first). But not, as good as Samsung or even the iphone face unlock.
* Slow charge. I kid you not. Really really slow.
* That bevel. Its huge.
* Buggy, I had so much glitches within 2 weeks.

🤗 Hope that helps.

Better camera on the 6 for sure (vs. 6a) and have a few flagship pluses like wireless charging.

But the phone is weirdly bulky with underwhelming battery life and a crappy Fingerprint reader.. They are still dealing with bugs 9 months in.

Meanwhile the 6a was shrunk .3" and they made hardware changes on the fingerprint scanner. Camera definitely is old (but still very capable and top of the class for a mid range shooter).

Honestly the 7 is the one to wait for if flagship is your want as it adds the second gen tensor processor which should be more efficient and they are rumored to be Shrinking the handset to make it less bulky. Plus it's getting the new Fingerprint reader the 6a is getting.

If it's $599 like the 6, it will be worth that.

6 was a step in the right direction but suffers from too many first year model issues for a new gen. The savings here just isn't good enough this close to 7.

Why would pixel solve for iMessage. It's iMessage that's stubborn, not Google.

and what is there to solve? the bubble colors ?!?

You will have signal issues. Mine would randomly gat a ! and I would have to turn on airplane mode for a second to reset the network. I loved the phone but it pushed me to Apple. Can't wait to get back to android tho.

After reading through all the material on the Pixel 6, 6a, 5 / 5a, I have to say it's clear people dislike many aspects of the 6/6a. The 5 vs 5a even is interesting because there's different/'better' features in the 5a then the 5. The 5a is far more difficult to procure refurb/open box then the Pixel 6 is; which is telling for how poorly received the 6 was for many people if they've already switched on.

The 6a doesn't even exist yet

I'm not sure why people hate this phone so much. Seems to be working just fine.

Samsung, with all the great reviews and happy owners, is giving 50% off.

Pixel 6, with all it's unhappy owners, is giving $100 off 🤔

That's a hard choice

They are the same price over at Google store as well. But they are out of stock of all of them except the pink. There is also %2 cash back available here as well. I went ahead with an amazon order. $10 in cash back isn't worth it to me, to get a pink on. Maybe if the black was in stock.

Don't do it. I always stand by Googles products but this is the worst phone I've ever owned and now I'm trying to get rid of it by trading it in.

The phone is really buggy, especially the camera.

Great phone, great camera, shitty inaccurate fingerprint reader. I've had it for about 6, 8 months.

Sending a video for one. And group texts. One can't really blame Android for this but it's ridiculous you need to send a Google cloud link or an iCloud link between the two phones for any kind of video to be clear no matter how short it is. I also used to miss many group texts when I was the only Android user. Having used both systems back and forth for years iPhones messaging is far superior.

I had the pixel 4a for a year, then broke it...I just replaced it with a note 10 plus and I really miss how simple and unbloated the pixel was. The note is fine but the curve screen is just stupid, then Bixby and other useless apps are hard built in. Beautiful phone otherwise. But my next phone will likely be another pixel.

I have been having this issues since release but the May or June 2022 update addressed the issue for my Pixel 6. I know some reported that the update did not fix it and it might also be a hardware issue. Just wanted to put this out there. I was very close to switching to Apple. Drove me up the wall when I could not make calls outside. I have been using Pixel/Google since Nexus and this might be one of the worse experience model that Google release.
