Survey Company Discussion & Review Thread

Hello survey lovers! Here is a thread just for you, to discuss various survey companies. The good, the bad and the ugly! Got a rant about a particular company? Here is your chance to vent. By the same token, got nothing but love for your favorite company? Share it with your fellow SD'ers!

The point of this thread is to help educate our fellow survey takers, both old and new, as to which companies are the most reputable to work with. Please keep in mind, however, that what one person may love about a certain company, another person may not.

This is a thread about opinions, but please be fair and honest in your descriptions. No slandering, no referrals, and no discussion of product tests.

In addition, please keep in mind that there are certain companies that, for certain reasons, do not wish to be discussed on message boards. These companies are listed in the survey forum rules, and may be found here.

You may also reference these rules for other FAQ's.

In addition, it might be helpful to keep a running tally in the Wiki of various survey companies as they come up for discussion. We can work together as a team to do this! Smilie

http://two-ribbons.blogspot.com has a TON of great reviews of survey companies, reward sites, etc. Love this resource.
http://www.surveypolice.com has security/reliability rankings of various companies done by users - great resource!
Always check a company's BBB rating too

To the best of my knowledge, yes. Unless you happen to win on one of thier sweepstakes or prizes, and then you can get another type of reward Smilie

Testspin has gone to a point system.Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I noticed my emails saying points instead of dollars so I logged in and checked it out. 1000 points is worth $1 and you can trade in the points for merchandise at Redeemitnow. They still have amazon and paypal. The merchandise wants way too many points for what they are worth. I hope they change the surveys. I usually delete them but perhaps they may start sending some worth doing. I will stick with amazon certificates instead of the merchandise.

Just thought I would share my story here. ..
I know most everyone knows about Survey Spot, but I wanted to share my experience. I joined in March of 2009 and to date have earned $342. I consider them one of my best companies. I also found a Communispace that I'm a member of that pays $20 monthly Amazon's through SS, as well as a couple of focus groups that have paid direct. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for the surveys to credit but mine always have.

www.surveyspot.com

Another company I like is Greenfield. I have made $161.50 with that company and have been with them since March 09 as well.

I now have a full time job, so I don't get to spend as much time doing surveys as I did when I was laid off. I tell everyone you won't get rich, but you can make an extra buck or two online doing surveys. There are legit companies out there.
I knew nothing about surveys until I found this forum. The people and the info here has been an extremely valuable resource. I was laid off from a job I held for 16 years back in December, and was looking for anything I could find to make extra money while searching for a job. The friendships I've made, and the people who led me in the right direction will always hold a special place in my heart. This forum kept me from getting majorly depressed while searching for a job in this tough economy. Best of Luck to all of you. I know how tough it can be when you find yourself in a situation you didn't expect.

That's very true. No matter how bad the surveys get, at the end of the month you're still getting "something" or a product to test. I'm glad things worked out for you Smilie
