Besides how long these fully charged batteries last, is there power intensity difference between these EGO 5ah and 2.5ah batteries when using these tools?
No. Same performance just runs twice as long.

Damn I bought this without battery and charger on prime day for $109. At this price I might as well spend the extra $68 and get another battery.

Ok thanks. I assume the weight would be heavier. Will look into this.

Need the 765 leaf blower.

The value in the OP is for only $58 more you receive the 2.5Ah battery and charger. Ace Hardware lists the battery for $160 with no charger.
Yeah, but I already have two chargers, two of the 2.5Ah batteries, two 5Ah batteries and a 7.5 for my mower. I'm good on batteries. 😁

Any suggestions on finding reasonable price batteries?

I haven't found many, other than buying another tool.

Will this thing cut better than my electric corded black and decker that I've had for 10yrs? I have thick ass skip laurel bushes in the front of my house that grow 3+ feet a year and have to be cut way back all the time. Such a mess
Yes. I was using corded black and decker for years before I switched to this one. World of difference

This trimmer is my favorite of the ego tools. It works so well. I've had it for a couple of years and absolutely love it.

5 vs 2.5 no difference I've seen except one lasts longer

I've only noticed intensity difference with the mower. When battery is low the self propel is a bit slower pulling itself. But with other tools I've never had anything but full power up until the second the battery runs out. Always have another battery charged and ready though.

Get another kit and sell the tool, buy refurb kit and sell the tool, buy a 3rd party battery. All options have pro's and cons.

Great deal if you don't already have the multi-head system or really need an extra 4".

I picked this multi-head below up for $150 during Lowe's spring BF and it's been amazing! What I like most about is it pivots and you can lock it in at different angles. Also don't have to get up on a ladder if you have taller or bigger bushes. Super nice. Takes up less space too when storing.

POWER+ Multi-Head System 20-in Hedge Trimmer Attachment https://www.lowes.com/pd/EGO-Multi-Head-Metal-String-Trimmer-Replacement-Blade/50002003 [lowes.com]
I picked up the trimmer (tool only) in the OP for $87 last week. It was on clearance at Lowe's. I bought it even though I am building my Ego ecosystem around the multi-head system. The reason was two-fold. First, obviously the price. Second, I thought the trimmer as a multi-head attachment would be great for taller hedges but not so for short ones (e.g., 4' and less), and it would be good to have both, especially at the price I paid. Was I wrong to think that?

It depends on the tool, at least with the original batteries. For instance, the 14" chainsaw had the same power head as the 16", but because the 16 used the 5ah battery which could source more current, the 16" saw did cut faster. I think it makes a difference with the mower under load, too. But with the hedge trimmer the 2.5ah battery can already supply as much current as the motor can draw.

The multi-head with hedge trimmer attachment is much heavier. I'd always choose the regular hedge trimmer unless I really needed the extra reach. The multi-head trimmer can also be used as a scythe for cutting woody weeds close to the ground.

Thank you! Its sufficient to have few 2.5ah and 5ah batteries and alternate between them based on the tool.
